“What should be done eventually must be done immediately.”

- Jeremy Foley

That quote is from one of the best college athletic directors in history, and it’s his philosophy on how to deal with coaches who aren’t cutting it.

Once it is clear this isn’t the coach who can take a team to the proper level, you cut ties immediately. You don’t let the season play out or “give them enough time.” You cut the cord and use that extra time to get a jump on finding the right guy.

Dome isn’t the right guy. It’s obvious. He’s had a full preseason. He isn’t going to coach us out of this mess.

If the team wants to wait a few weeks until coaches in Europe are coming available, I guess waiting that long might make sense, but that’s the only reason to wait past this very moment.

As a fellow gator I agree with everything but the one of best ad comment. Foley did a lot of good but facilities went to shit cause he would use debt or make facility fund raising a priority and he failed on all football hires. (Meyer was forced on him by Bernie).

You don’t wait. You cut the head off and make it clear to the players a new coach is coming - until then, the players will feel like the situation is futile and it’s gonna hurt any confidence and mojo they have taking instruction from the dipshit.

Impossible to know since they have to system to play by and everyone is on a different page.

My answer is no. Some guys are just as good (Ring, Callens, Johnson. Sands more experienced.)

But what about Maxi? What about Medina? Isi and Lewis?

Medina is crap and he’s been given every opportunity to play... he can’t even create anything on his own. Our scouting department must work on sell-on commission because no elite scout would ever have recommended signing him and yet this guy was sold to us a an elite up-and-coming talent that would rain in the GAM when transferred on to a big league.

I already said my theory on Maxi/Isi was that last year was an outlier and theyre not the difference maker everybody thinks them to be - theyre reverting to the norm.

Lewis is playing at a high level but has barely been given an opportunity. How much can he show next to a guy that prefers to hold over passing and supported by a guy that wants to bomb forward? Loved the play when Mata was caught in the corner and alewis had to sprint back to make the tackle.
