If they didn’t include it, wonder if it’s due to his transfer cost (not that it’s high) that they wouldn’t want to fork over? Or if Benfica simply said no deal, it’s one year or nothing, and the loan is to just get him playing time as opposed to an audition?

I think it was stated earlier here that Benfica do not want to sell him at all and are just looking for playing time. I read that their current roster makeup just isn’t good for him at the moment, but they love him there, so do not want to sell.
That may have been earlier in this thread, but I also may have read that somewhere else
