Khiry Shelton's Autographed Game Used Boots

We are in the depths of offseason and I would appreciate your input. Remember when you could enter raffles for NYCFC related prizes through the website? I am not sure how many people entered, but in 2016(?) I was the proud winner of a pair of Khiry Shelton's game worn (the dried mud stuck to some of the studs was a nice touch) autographed cleats. (See my profile picture). I very quickly put them in the bottom of my closet where they have barely seen the light of day. A couple of years ago I was looking at them and was surprised that they look like my size. On closer inspection I found that they are exactly my size -- 11 1/2.

Which leads me to my question for the forum. Right before the doctor shut me down at the end of September, my right boot got so bad that it could easily fall apart the next time I play with them. Should I use Khiry's boots as my own or just hold onto them as is and buy new boots? They are way nicer than any boots I would buy for myself. The autographs will obviously wear off pretty quickly.

Personally, I don't think a Khiry Shelton autograph is worth much so I say use them! You'll get more enjoyment out of playing in them than you will out of an autograph you probably couldn't sell even if you wanted to.

If it makes your feel better about it I went to an event years ago and ended up leaving with 2 nycfc balls signed by TMac, Claudio Reyna and Sean Johnson. My kids have kicked those balls all over the yard, signatures are long gone. No regrets on my end, to me there is more value in the fun we had using them than we would have got from them sitting on a shelf some place.

Wear them, use them. If you cared about them as a collectible you would either display them or store them carefully as part of a curated larger collection. They're sitting in the bottom of your closet, ignored. Take 'em out.
