Kids Who Escort Players Onto The Field

Thanks. I saw that. Week before too. Always wondered if the players were stoic and focused or spent some time with them. I am sure it varies by player.
We won it last week and my daughter had a blast. She drew Khiry and he chatted her up (or maybe she chatted him up). Some cool stuff in the tunnel too, including Villa coming through and making a real point to high five each of the kids. He should have a great time.

It's totally random. You can read a description from someone who was able to do it in another thread.

Apparently, he will get to keep what he wears onto the pitch, which includes a full kit. Coincidentally, that's what the Easter Bunny is bringing him, so might have to scramble here. Although, I think I recall that the kit he gets is the practice kit. Not sure if anyone here knows.

His sister is supremely jealous, but she is only 5 and didn't make the age cutoff (7). She will have to deal with the consolation prize of face painting and cotton candy.
No full kit. At one point it was a quasi-training top with white shorts, but now it's a Wells Fargo t-shirt.

Remember to record the game for some quality tv time!

Update. The wonderful Emily from fan services procured a spot for my daughter as well. So, two little Gothams will be on the pitch today.

Actually, I confirmed that they will get a full kit to take home!

I guess it all depends on what one's definition of a full kit is.

You seem to define it as a full NYCFC kit. I (and I believe the people giving you the kit) define it as a pair of white shorts and a Wells Fargo t-shirt. Both are technically full kits.

It's a full kit you lucky bastard! I was wr, wr, wr, wr, wrong!

I believe the Wells Fargo stuff comes out for the national TV games. But, even then, they gave us a full NYCFC kit to take home. Plus some Wells Fargo clothes. One will be worn more than the other

Anyone can get a full NYCFC kit, but who can get a Wells Fargo kit?

EDIT: I really want the Chipotle kit from the Homegrown Players game from All Star Weekend.

When my boy did it last year, they gave a 9-year old a Boys XL training shirt and XL shorts. I hope he can fit into them in time for his Bar Mitzvah!

Odd. Didn't even know there was a boys XL - figured at that point the child would start wearing men's S.

I think a Boys XL is for a, shall we say, wider child, vs a taller small male.

I posted this on another thread.

My son escorted Chris Tireney onto the field (my daughter was with Scott Caldwell). As I've explained to my son, this means he is somewhat responsible for the fact that Tierney was on the field and able to score the equalizer. I explained to him that he should have taken Tierney the wrong way - led him out of the Stadium and onto the 4 train into the city - or barring that, he should have just pushed him down the stairs of the dugout. But, he failed, and we have our draw.

He also told me that when he and the other kids were in the tunnel, they yelled at the refs not to make any bad calls. Advice that was clearly misunderstood.

They had a great time and each got to take home a full kit - jersey, shorts, socks. My 8-year-old son took the lead in washing them today - he doesn't trust anyone with his fucking jersies - and hung them up in a special place in the closet. He also got a jersey from the Easter Bunny this morning (had been planned for weeks). This was just more of a good thing for him. Now he needs to figure out what names to put on the back.

They really seemed to enjoy the whole experience of meeting the players and walking out on the pitch.

I can say also that the club does a first class job. The picture below of all the jersies laid out was from their Twitter feed. They got to do a soccer quiz and met some of the police and firemen that formed the tunnel. image.jpeg

Do the socks say "City" on the back?

Did you/they see this?

Did you/they see this?

I did see that, thanks. It's kind of a weird camera angle, but it was interesting to see them walk out. You can spot my guys at the 2:35 mark. The short girl with the NE player and the blonde boy behind her. Afterward, they walked off the field hand in hand, which was really cute.

The lovely miss Emily also sent some pix from her phone of them in the tunnel too, and they are attached.
