Kids Who Escort Players Onto The Field

I did see that, thanks. It's kind of a weird camera angle, but it was interesting to see them walk out. You can spot my guys at the 2:35 mark. The short girl with the NE player and the blonde boy behind her. Afterward, they walked off the field hand in hand, which was really cute.

The lovely miss Emily also sent some pix from her phone of them in the tunnel too, and they are attached.

Awesome, and super cute kids!

The Cityzens portal just added a sweepstakes for Player Escorts against Chicago on Sunday. From my experience, this is one of the best things you can do with Cityzens points if you have a kid in the right age range. They get to meet the players, walk out on the pitch, and get a full kit to take home. From my limited perspective, it's also pretty easy to win.

What is the minimum age for eligibility?

7-11 is the official age range, but I managed to talk them into taking my daughter, who is 5. I think there were some special circumstances going on with that one, so I wouldn't expect it to apply most of the time.

So I shouldn't register my eight month old?

That rules out my son, who has 5 years to go... We'll let's hope he can me one of the first kids to usher out players at our new home!

Depends. Are you willing to hold hands with someone as you walk out onto the field? If so, then sign up!
Would I hold hands with Villa? Hell yes? Am I also taller than Villa? Also yes? Would I just whisper under my breath the entire time "no homo" and "this is the best day in my entire life" with the biggest smile on my face? I think you all can guess my answer by now.

Just got the good news that my 7-YO son (the youngest) will be escorting the players for the home opener on Saturday. He is very excited.

His brother and sister got to do it back in 2016 (see avatar to the left). It was a great experience for them. They escorted NE Revs players, my son was paired with Chris Tierney, who scored the tying goal on a free kick. I've not stopped giving my son a hard time about letting him on the field.

Here is my youngest in a video from a couple years ago.

Do you know if he will be escorting NYCFC or Miami players yet? (I was also about to ask if you knew which player but then realized that would give away the lineup lol)

No. As far as I know - and what they tell us is that - the whole thing is random. The kids are lined up and marched to their spots. You get what you get and you don't get upset.

Is this something you request/sign up for? Or your rep just reached out to you?

This came because our local youth soccer program recently began an affiliation with NYCFC and received some "experiences" in return. This is one of them, and we won a lottery to get to do it.

In the early days of the Club, season ticket holders could enter a similar lottery, but they haven't had those since 2017 or so. There was also a time when you could purchase the reward on your Master Card, but that's also been a few years. I think they reserve all the spots for youth affiliates and (probably) sponsors.
