Was this game included for season ticket holders? If so were the tickets uploaded onto our accounts? I remember there being an opt out, but if I recall that was for any future games in the tournament.

I opted out but they didn't honor it, LOL, so I have two tickets that I've listed for sale. Going to Man City the day before and didn't want to have to go to Yankee Stadium two days in a row.

From a June 10 email. "As a City Member, the first round of Leagues Cup vs. Querétaro F.C. is included in your membership."

The opt out was only for additional games. I turned my Querataro game in for credit, which means it must have landed in my account.

Does anyone care about the League Cup? The whole thing feels inauthentic to me, like a bunch of money-grab exhibition games trying to pretend to be a tournament.

Given the Man City roster, you may want to change that around.

Just found the tickets. In the app the tickets aren’t listed under “access my tickets” like every game. They’re located in “return/exchange”. Weird.

I am in the huge minority and am all in on Leagues Cup. I love the concept and think its one of the most original and interesting tourneys in world soccer. Champions Cup slots on the line. Knockout games. Who the hell knows who we will play next or where (looks like Citi Field is available if we win the group.

Nope. Doesn't matter, still going. Besides, I have so many NYCFC jerseys that I need to try and balance that out with a new City jersey LOL

I'd say Haaland alone is worth the price of admission. It's always fun to see a talented player like that in person.

I also love the tournament, but wish it was possible to do it pre or post season to not disrupt the regular season. It's a good way to compete with LMX.
I was unsure of it going into last season, but what separate's this from a typical exhibition/mobey-grab is that the players on both sides seemed to be bought into it.

My idea is to schedule it the way FA Cup is scheduled. Don't stop everyone's season, just do 1 game a month throughout the season. Teams that lose in the group stage will have three weeks without games, which doesn't make much sense.

You can work with LIga MX to schedule weekends over the course of the season where this event would work. 1-2 weekends a month from March-October. It might cause a couple extra midweek regular-season games, but it would alleviate some of the weird scheduling issues that happen to teams who are eliminated in the group stage/round of 32.

I do like how it is a complete tournament that I can put all my focus into. That is what makes the tournament special imo. I don't really like the staggered nature of Champions League/FA-Open cup.

I like the idea of us playing against Liga MX teams, even though we've only gotten one high profile club - Pumas. It's a nice change of pace, and the Mexican fans I've met have been good.

I would prefer that they handle it like the FA Cup throughout the season, but that's a lot of travel for the Mexican teams, since this money grab is only played in the States.

Plus, hearing music played during every goal kick is hilarious.

That's the other thing about Leagues Cup. It can't be a real competitive tournament until all teams get home games, not just American and Canadian teams. When you decide the entire thing will be played in America, it devalues the competition and makes me think it's just a pure money grab.

Yeah....essentially the kids and core players who didn't feature in the Euros or Copa.

I'm wondering what the field condition will be for our match which is actually a competitive one.

Leagues Cup last year was Cohiba Don’s showcase for Messi, I’m sure Garber was cursing when Messi’s ankle swelled up like a beach ball in the copa final.

I’m hoping NYCFC just gets time to rest, heal, and work on tactics after going out. They aren’t winning it so it’s kind of pointless.

I would like to see us win a knockout round game or two so the young guys get that experience before the MLS Cup Playoffs.
