all plays are looked at by VAR. whether or not VAR calls the ref's attention to it or not is a matter of whether the call was a "clear and obvious" mistake. this VAR didn't think it was for whatever reason. we'll never know! unless they start releasing ref conversations after the game.

Would have taken it - Maxi (while we all watched in terror)
Who I would want to take it - O'Neil (No idea what his PK track record is, but he's just so professional and seems like he'd be the least phased by the moment)
Wildcard Pick - Ojeda (Upside of a possible needed confidence boost if he hits it, but playing with fire if he misses)
Maxi would have taken it.
I would have been fine with Reid or Musu or whoever earned the PK
His jersey had a "Debut" patch on it. Never seen that before.
