Trying to see if I can abandon the wife alone with the baby and not die to make it.

Your wife should call my wife. We had a 2-week old in December 2021. As we kept advancing in the playoffs I started to explain what might happen.
Not only was I given permission to go, but it wasn’t a trap, and I’m still here to tell the story.
Exception that proves the rule.

Montreal have not won a game at home yet this season. They also just transferred one of their best young players.

sets us up perfectly for a 1-0 loss then, huh?

Montreal played yesterday. Which begs the question. Will our boys be rested or rusty. Unfortunately my vote will
be the latter cause it’s always been the case with this team after a small break.

Just saw on Reddit that Pascal will be missing the match due to a personal matter. Medhi will take the helm.

Vieira had a personal issue, left a week later. Deila had a personal issue, left a week later.
Both of those cases there was already media about them being hired elsewhere / interviewing. There's none of that in this case.

this is the quote from NYCFC:

Head Coach Pascal Jansen has returned to Europe for a personal matter and will miss our match against Montreal this weekend. Assistant coach Mehdi Ballouchy will lead the team on the sidelines in Montréal. Head Coach Pascal Jansen is expected to be back in New York City ahead of our game against Toronto FC. We will not be fielding any questions on the matter.
I think this is a pretty open-and-shut private matter he's dealing with.

I don’t think it’s funny either way.

I’m generally not the tinfoil hat type, but the timing of this in midsummer when we have lost two managers to European teams poaching, coinciding with the club’s instagram post of Mehdi balling out in the LES (otherwise seems pretty random) has my antennae up. I would not be at all surprised if the next announcement is Pascal leaving.

ETA: I REALLY hope this isn’t that. He’s my favorite manager along with Dome.
