You found a buyer???We suck again! But a huge win deciding to sell my tix this afternoon.
I imagine your feelings have changed.I know. Still sad to be missing it, even a game in the rain. Those are fun.
You really can’t beat a 3-0 loss in steady rain at YS when every decent remaining food option is closed. Perfect night all around.I imagine your feelings have changed.
Ha yes, for heavily discounted PS seats late in the day - was still surprised I got anything for them with the weather forecast etc.You found a buyer???
This is our problem. We're asking way too much of Maxi. It's downright cruel.Maxi is 3rd in minutes played behind only Haak and Freese. He looked tired and slow tonight. If the miles are starting to catch up with him, we are in big trouble. Complete roster construction negligence on the part of Lee to leave the squad so reliant on a 38-year-old with no backup.
I’m tired of all the negativity. Yes our team is not built right, yes our attack is not playing well, yes our primary transfer window was wasted. But I hate hearing about how we’ve been gifted goals. No we were not. The boys had to put the ball into the net. Gifts are only gifts when you take advantage of them. Remember Coronel with the bad back pass. Alonso had to be in the right position to scoop it up, maxi had to have the patients to out maneuver the defense and slot the ball into the net. And more importantly than being in the right position at the right time, being a pressing team means you’re trying to make the other team make mistakes and be sloppy or kick the ball long into a 50/50 situation so you can win the ball back. So forcing “gifts” and punishing the opponent on a quick counter is the style we are currently playing. So minimizing it takes away 3/4ths of our main strategy. With the 1/4th being play a line breaking pass to Alonso and hope he doesn’t kick it straight into the keeper.for anybody who was looking at our table position and think "maybe we are actually good?" --- tonight should show you that we are not. we're inconsistent and our wins have been due to gifts for the most part. how many of the goals we've scored this season have been due to actual good play? maybe half. the rest have been gifts or PKs.
our wingers suck. no word on jones coming back anytime soon so he's probably done for the season.
maxi is great but he's tired. oneil probably needs more time to get used to the squad.
we are where we are in the table because fortunately, other teams in this conference are also slipping up. but on the whole, we look terrible and it's a surprise when we actually look like a team with eyes on the prize.
sigh. and the worst part of the season is yet to come. how long until the summer transfer window starts? i'm sure Lee will wait until the last minute to sign a depth piece or some lame shit.
I haven't been so down on this team in awhile. The only highlights for me are Shore, Jansen, Haak, and Parks looking like he's back to his old self, at least when he's not too injured. Otherwise, it's been really hard to get excited to watch this team let alone dream of silverware.
Yes but no. The problem is not that we don't deserve the gift goals we convert. The problem is we have almost no other way to score. But I hate hearing about how we’ve been gifted goals. No we were not. The boys had to put the ball into the net. Gifts are only gifts when you take advantage of them.
Julian's horrible off-ball movement is killing the offense. The sequence that starts at 12:57 is a perfect example.
In the entire sequence, Jilian never moved faster than a jog and never put himself in a position to receive the ball in a dangerous position or act as a decoy that a defender needed to care about. It's like we're playing with one less attacker.
- Gray wins the header, and Maxi settles it
- Julian stops running and shows for the ball along the right sideline at midfield, even though Maxi has a multitude of better options, and Julian should be moving forward in the attack.
- Maxi turns and hits Oniell, charging forward through the channel
- The LB tucks in to help on Oniell, leaving a swath of wide-open space in front of Julian, but he's already behind the play.
- Instead of trying to recover and sprinting into the open space the LB just vacated, Julain jogs behind the play, leaving Oniell no options on the right
- Oniell then goes left to Wolf, who is forward in an attacking position
- Wolf Passes to Shore, who beats his guy and is now driving along the endline, looking for the cross
- Does Julian cut aggressively to the back post? Of course not, he walks to the penalty spot and stands there ball watching.
