What did people think of the collision with Freese? I was at a work event and only came home in the 75’. My kids told me it should have been a card, probably red.
When I looked at the replays, I couldn’t really tell anything. The angle was terrible, and I couldn’t find the point of contact.
He did have some studs showing, but not clear whether that matters.
Imo it was a 50/50 - Freese didn't have the ball and wasn't really "close" to it. Both players had the right to run at it.
Many times when something like that happens, the attacking player will pull back or jump over the keeper thinking "eh, not worth potentially injuring the keeper" - however it's not required, and I don't believe in this case he did anything wrong in going for the ball in that play.
I don't think it's a card, nor do I fault him for going into that challenge - but he DID collide with Freese either way, so he should feel some sort of remorse or... anything, really, and maybe take that for the future.
