We've all been through the hoopla of Ticketmaster and Stubhub here at NYCFC this season but it looks like MLS will break down all the traditional ticket barriers for fans.

Interesting. Odd that MLS hasn't made an announcement on their site, but Bloomberg is credible and SeatGeek has it as well. Beyond that, I guess this means we won't be subject to the new Yankee deal with StubHub.

Or because we're tenants renting the use of Yankee Stadium, we might be the exception and Yankee ticketing policy will override the MLS? I don't know, you're the lawyer.

Was looking something up in the MLS app and saw a SeatGeek ad. Which led me to see if they have tickets available already and they do. Not sure how people have managed to list tickets. I have not seen an announcement and the games have not shown up yet in the STH Ticketmaster account.

As long as you are confident you will be able to deliver when the time comes (if you are a STH, for example) you can list tickets before you have them.

Last year I checked tickets sold on Stubhub obsessively from the time the season was announced. There were very early sales but the sales that did happen got relatively high prices. No competition from retail before they go on sale, after all.

They do accept printed pdf tickets. You just have to wait in line a little bit longer as they scan it once while you're in line, and then again at the gate. Not all gates accept printed pdf tickets.

Also, unless NYC has received a waiver that we have not heard about, they will be required by contract and MLS policy to accept SeatGeek, in some form or another.

So what does this actually mean for listing your tickets somewhere? I had never heard of seat geek previously, do you list with "the geek" and select the various platforms you want your tickets on, stub hub, ticket master etc thru the seat geek process?

This might not be the best place for this - but the red bulls have significant discounts for group ticket sales, with a 15 ticket minimum - would be fun to get a forum group together for the away games at RBA.
