MLS Week 25 - 2019 (Heineken Rivalry Week)

As a neutral, this is the best game of the season so far.
As an LA(g or fc) fan, this must be a nightmare to watch LOL

I hope y

lol equally as insane to me that high profile games start at 4pm on a weekday for us. Can’t please everyone.

Leagues always, ALWAYS cater to east coast viewers at the cost of home fans. Our home playoff games (for Sharks) were starting at 6pm ffs. Impossible to get to a game by 6 in the Bay Area.

Hope some of y’all stayed up for this one because it’s wild.

I get that, but to be honest, there's a reason all major sports leagues start their major games at primetime hours for the east coast -- there's just more people that live on the east coast, and more people you can expose your product to. So I get that it's a 7:30 local start, but putting this game after most people on the east coast have gone to bed seems silly and counterproductive to the goal of increasing MLS's viewership.

And it's a hell of a lot of fun. Not an ounce of defense being played, but it's fun as hell.

It is crazy how tight LAFC gets in close games. If anyone can score first against them in the playoffs, they have a real chance of falling. There's so much pressure in the postseason, and that's not something they seem to handle well in the biggest games.

LAFC is super fun to watch!!! Their attacking 6-7 players go all out, non-stop, and their spacing & passing is really next level. So many passes were crisp low balls to feet that bypassed the first level of recipient, many times breezing right past, to the intended recipient another 5-10m farther over - seemed like the LAG would defend the first/decoy player which left the recipient in a wide open swath of space to then push the attack. Made for a very fluid transition each time they won the ball back, and kept the LAG defenders on their back heels - never seen so many desperation first-touch clearances out for throws or corners without any attempt to win possession.

Watching them play felt like what our front 3-4 were doing vs RB, but LAFC was throwing everyone forward in a complete overload capacity that made one think a goal was coming with every foray forward. And my gosh Vela and Rossi and Diomande are dangerous up front - their technical skill and foot speed is so much better than than the MLS typical forward, even including many TAM/DP players.

Bradley really has set the bar high this year.

And don’t even get me started on the atmosphere at the stadium..... looked like I was watching a Saturday morning EPL match.

This is the best MLS Rivalry Week I can remember. Except maybe for SKC/Minnesota, it didn't have any super forced matchups, and they didn't even count RSL/Colorado as a Rivalry Week game when that's the Rocky Mountain whatever. And then they got lucky and a lot of the games had real playoff implications, and on top of that, they were paid off with high intensity games.
