Can anyone with a retail background explain to me why last year's home jerseys aren't cheaper right now? There is some cost to carrying inventory and it seems hard to believe they're going to sell very many of these at the current prices.
Then again, they were still trying to sell inaugural season away kits (some with Mix personalization) as recent as a few months ago.

A good portion of the casual supporters base won't care if they are buying the current or the old shirt, they just want a shirt because their buddy is rounding up a bunch of people to go to a game, or their grandson Chaim's birthday is coming and he likes that soccer team.
In large part, any sale of an old shirt undercuts the new shirt. Typically retailers try to sell through separate discount channels without cannibalizing their regular sales or brand image.
