Number of NYCFC fans in NYC

I was in a liquor store in Wilton Ct yesterday and a Irish guy walked by me and asked if that was a NYC jersey I was wearing. We talked for a few minutes and he said he had been to 3 games so far this year. He was in his late 50s and was going to the game this weekend. He was excited by the LA players especially Keane.
I said I thought it was great that we had quality soccer in NYC and he said he thought the level of play in MLS was very good. He also thought that YS was a fine place for a game. I could not of agreed more.
I would put the number of fans in NYC at about 300,000 with another 100,000 in the metro area.
Fans in my opinion can name 5 players and hold a conversation about the team for 3 minutes.
