Two best Academies right now?
We may not have a USL team, but I’d take our best u19 attacker on a HG contract over Medina.I can't give our academy a grade above a B+ until there's a USL team.
Once these kids graduate from the development academy, they have only a few options...
- Sign with NYCFC
- Sign with NYCFC then loaned out
- Go to college (we retain their homegrown rights)
- Go abroad
Not having an intern NYCFC II that we can control their development really puts a negative on the club in terms of developing talent.
I remember Colman Kim from the U15 team that won the GA Cup. He's now on the U19 team going to the title. Don't know if he will sign for the first team, but we're growing all this talent and not seeing it go to the next level for us.
