Incredible what this academy has done over the last two years. Went toe to toe with LA Galaxy and FC Dallas, know for producing the top American talent , and beat them both.

Haak is healthy. I hope Bedoya and Stuver got latrine duty or something.

I'm not surprised Haak was left off this. I've got great hopes for him, but he hasn't played nearly enough minutes to earn a spot on the Homegrown team.

Just skimming through that list, it seems as all of those guys have played somewhat significant minutes this year and Haak just hasn't gotten that yet.

Oh yeah. It's interesting, most of that class was a top defensive team. We stopped the potent LA Galaxy offense, went 0-0 and then won in penalties.

This class was a top offensive team. Winning 2-0 in both the semifinals and finals against the #3 and #1 clubs in the nation. So hopefully some homegrown attacking talent soon!

All started in the U-19 DA championship last year and we’re eligible to play on this team, injuries, transfers, and pro bench duties not withstanding.

Yes, even MLB and NHL teams do it through their minor league affiliates, but for young adult players. Not sure about NBA development programs, but this is common for lower level sports.

FC Dallas does this too, seems to work with their incredible academy. Chris Richards (CB now in Bayern academy) did it since his family is from Alabama/Mississippi.
