It’s extremely convoluted and a reason why the lawsuit, while excellent conceptually, is deeply flawed in reality. They’re comparing apples to oranges and want the best case situation across the board with both NT payments and continued league salary/stipend.OK. Maybe I misread Seth's post as stating that USWNT members were paid monthly by the federation instead of their NWSL teams, rather than on top of their NWSL teams. Or maybe I'm just totally lost...
Where would he get that idea unless an insider talked to him?Matt Doyle just said that he thinks Joe Scally’s long term position will end up being CB.
Scally is better than Sands, yet Scally has never gotten a debut???Earlier this year, the Club regraded Scally as a better prospect long term than Sands. I wonder if that’s because they think he’s Sands’ replacement. He’s certainly a better athlete.

Doyle’s take on NYCFC in 2019 was before Heber arrived. His take was 100% on point with the information available at that time and proven by our results at the time.Other things Matthew Doyle has said about NYCFC...
1. Have 0 percent chance of making the playoffs in 2016.
2. LA Galaxy academy will beat NYCFC in USDA Championship in 2018.
3. NYCFC will finish 8th in the East in 2019.
Most of Doyle's takes about NYCFC have not just been bad, they've been wrong. I don't believe anything this guy speaks, writes, thinks about NYCFC.
Tweet in mention, this is for the USMNT U20s, not necessarily NYCFC where we see him as a RB.

It’s easy to dump on Doyle, but do it and be fair about it.
Don’t get defensive. It was easy to see we were a train wreck before the season and considering the shit show Dome was the end of last year. And no, it wasn’t a given we’d get the players we needed - we whiffed on a few before Mitrita and he hasn’t panned out yet. Heber was lucky as a TAM.He made the prediction before the season started. We had no results at that point. He was saying there was 7 teams better in the East before the season started. And you could believe that NYCFC would go out and get the asset it needed compared to other teams in the East.

Is this team now better than it was under PV last June?
It's also unfair to hold the 2016 prediction against Doyle. I don't know exactly when he made it, but after 15 games, of which 9 were Home, the team had 1.20 PPG. The 3 previous games were RBW, Home draw with Orlando, Home loss to RSL. Expecting the team to jump to 1.89 PPG was a stretch in the remaining games was a less than obvious.
Also after that Orlando game, I said I didn't think NYCFC would make the playoffs. LionNYC agreed.
And if you're going to bash Doyle for getting NYCFC predictions wrong it's odd just to pick on the negative takes. How about this from March 2018: "Through three weeks Medina looks like a star, and through three weeks NYCFC look like they're the best team in the league. They're a good bet to stay up near the top of the table all season once again, and are the odds-on favorite to win themselves a spot in next year's CCL."
There's a whole lot of wrong in that quote. It might be the most wrong thing anybody has ever written about NYCFC. But all of it was positive for NYCFC at the time, so nobody remembers it, because everyone, even fans of LAFC, LAG, Atlanta and Cascadia are convinced that MLS digital is unfair to them and just remembers the stuff that annoyed them at the time. But if anyone were truly keeping track of Doyle's wrong takes about NYCFC that quote would be high on the list.
The Power Rankings probably represent a decent compilation of the MLS media team's views. Early this month we were ranked #2. Given LAFC's dominance, that is as high as could be expected. After 2 straight losses we dropped to 6, which is a bit harsh, but the 5 teams ahead of us were LAFC, the 2 teams who beat us (debatable but I get it) the Quakes (hottest team excluding March), and Seattle. I think today we'll be at 4.If we were to complain about being disregarded and disdained by MLS digital it would be now, when we are second in the East on PPG with games on hand and an apparently soft schedule ahead, and their talking head mention every team but us as a candidate to finish up top. This week, for the first time, there was a lady in their panel whom I had never seen before and she mentioned NYCFC as a candidate. I'm sure she'll get banished.
