MLS Digital has an agenda, and that is to drive ratings/clicks/feedback-discussion. They aren’t in the business of getting “it right” - they need to drive controversy in one form or another, and that comes from either hot takes that deride or ignore teams/players from the discussion. It seems to be working just fine considering how up in arms NYCFC fans get about the lack of, or “slanted,” coverage. While I don’t think it’s 100% of the time, they originally made NYCFC the team everybody loved to hate because we made it easy for them with controversial owners getting a team with no stadium plans, Lampardgate, the slow/painful demise of Pirlo, and the early thrashings by RB. They’ve also at times, albeit a lower percentage, heaped praise on players and PV. That’s part of the equation - don’t alienate viewers so much that they walk away, and throw a bone now and again. If we were to complain about being disregarded and disdained by MLS digital it would be now, when we are second in the East on PPG with games on hand and an apparently soft schedule ahead, and their talking head mention every team but us as a candidate to finish up top. This week, for the first time, there was a lady in their panel whom I had never seen before and she mentioned NYCFC as a candidate. I'm sure she'll get banished.
My suggestion is if they frustrate you, tune them out and don’t give the clicks. Go read from other sources. It’ll make you feel better not being angered by the perceived slights.
