Shout out to the U15s and the U17s for both winning their groups and advancing to the top level of the GA Cup Championships. Only 3 Academies achieved that feat -- the fact that one of the others was NJRB speaks to the amount of talent in the greater NYC metro area being developed.
so it seems they still want to include non-mls academies in the new "mls youth league" but they also mention playing against international academies from the region. they mention the adidas cup format as a possible way of doing it, this in order to reduce cost and have enough games to play.
what ? so then the power just went from USSF to MLS
will be better run that way considering the ineptitude of USSF. If you look at USSF’s history of growing talent in the US, anything is an improvement. Hell, give MLS a 6 year contract to run the USMNT (Though I’d worry that would only secure Berhalter’s hold on the manager’s position).
If NYCFC was in charge of USSF, then over those 6 years, we’d have 4 managers.
