It's extremely rare for players of that age to play up a level. With the way Gio has been playing, why didn't he make the team?
Normally yes, but Gio isn't a normal player, and this summer Josh sargent was tapped up to the U-20s and shined, so there is precedent. I'd venture that the coach simply didn't want to bring a new face in and mess with the continuity. It's extremely rare for players of that age to play up a level.
I'm saying it's rare for a u15 to play with the u17s no matter who the player is because players are at a different stage in terms of maturity. There's a difference between going from u15 to u17 and u17 to u20.Normally yes, but Gio isn't a normal player, and this summer Josh sargent was tapped up to the U-20s and shined, so there is precedent. I'm not disagreeing that it's rare, but Gio has already proven he can hold his own against older competition, and he's been doing it for years.I'm saying it's rare for a u15 to play with the u17s no matter who the player is because players are at a different stage in terms of maturity. True, but Gio has been playing with the U19's as of late, right? I know not all of them are national team caliber, but I thought he would get a callupI'm saying it's rare for a u15 to play with the u17s no matter who the player is because players are at a different stage in terms of maturity. While I'm glad the family moved to DC for traffic concerns for midtown Manhattan. He actually was born in New York and went to Columbia Grammar until this academic year, so we are missing out at a potential homegrown signing here...
Not a big fan of the president but there will sadly be protestors at the game tomorrow. Just leave the kid alone. While I'm glad the family moved to DC for traffic concerns for midtown Manhattan. Holy crap. I just realized that he's playing on DC United's U12 Academy team. That is hilarious.
It's SAD! that some deserving kid got bumped for him.
DC United's academy is still pay to play.Holy crap. I just realized that he's playing on DC United's U12 Academy team. That is hilarious.

I assume they have scholarships for players that can't afford it right? Not that it makes it much better though.DC United's academy is still pay to play.
Would be a nice gesture if DC HG player's had all of their club fees refunded after being signed.DC United's academy is still pay to play.
I saw him play 2 full games this year. In this rare instance, I know of which I speak.Maybe he deserves his spot
