Looks like all of the home games have been changed to SUNY Purchase. Probably good for them and bad for me (Queens).

Let me be the first (and probably not the last) to say that going to a U15 boys soccer game that does not include a relative or child of a friend is at least a little creepy.

LIttle known fact: Metropolitan Oval's technical director, Paul Buckle, is the husband of NBC Sports' Rebecca Lowe.

XXXXX

Never mind. He's not there anymore. But still married to fair Rebecca.

No need to go all Chris Hansen. These aren't random kids, these are future potential professional NYCFC players. Football and Basketball recruiting and scouting of middle school/high school players is a multi-million dollar industry in the USA.

Are any of us scouts? I can't imagine their will be any outside outside besides parents, friends, etc.

Improve Everywhere went to a little league game a few years ago and turned it into a major sporting event.

I think it might be cool to bring the supporters section to one of their matches. Rent the bus, bring banners, smoke (with permission), the whole nine yards.

It's a youth game. No smoke. No drinking. No anything fun besides PG cheers.

Not saying any of us are scouts, but if you follow college basketball or football you definitely follow the recruiting process/prep game without being accused of being a pediophile.

Wow, that gives our academy/affiliates three guys on the U14 BNT. (FC Dallas also has three, and LA Galaxy has two, while Red Bulls are down to one.) That's an awesome start to the program.

GK Alexander Rando (NYCFC; New York, N.Y.)
DEF Will Citron (NYCFC; Eastchester, N.Y.)
MID Matteo Ritaccio (BW Gottschee; Westbury, N.Y.)

"The squad is composed of a small roster that is well balanced in terms of age with almost half of our players being one year younger,” Marion said. “This small roster allows us to focus on individual player development, and having younger players prepares next year’s talent pool."

I'm slightly confused. Doesn't this mean they'll only have half of a U15/16 roster to start next year? So I guess that means they pull more guys from the affiliates as they grow?

Actually, I think this makes a lot of sense. They are probably monitoring all the 15-year-olds on the affiliates now and will pull them into the U-15/16 team next year when they turn 16. Then they'll have to do the same thing, but for 17-year-olds turning 18, in 2017 when they add a U-17/18 team. USL team by 2018?

If you had a choice, you take the training academy with links to Man City. They've proven that they will spend the money to develop players.

Explain this like I'm 5. What makes City's academy so different than most others?
