With expansion sides, there must be more international spots. Our first academy player probably wouldn't have suited up for the first team in less than 6 years. You need to get 6 years of roster adjustments in before you can realistically consider grooming your own talent.

I legitimately have no idea what they're doing. Maybe they loan out one of the internationals to a USL club.
Maybe Wingert is traded, maybe he retires and we use his money to get another international spot.
It's anyone's guess at this point. It would seem if this deal falls through they'd look at Roberto Chen.
There's also the possibility that one of our internationals isn't an international anymore. I've been trying to find that out and hope to have an answer soon.

Well the MLS website says he is, so yes. And then there's this supposed interest in Roberto Chen as well, although apparently he played for San Francisco for a few years so he may actually be green card-eligible?
Have you checked our current internationals' ring fingers?

No he's had his green card for a while. We're currently at 10 of 10 but there's a good chance we free up a spot soon.
