I think it's Connor Brandt, Mikey Lopez, Khiry Shelton, and apparently for the summer, Mikey's brother Andy
Makes sense.
I would imagine a fair number of the younger players live in the city. I know I would want Manhattan or Brookyn if I were them, and there are ways to do it if you are young, starting out, and not making much $$$. About this time last year, I did see a bunch of players lined up at the end of the train platform to head up to practice. It was before I knew the roster that well, but I did recognize Nemec (kind of hard not to), and the rest were not the marquee guys.

A few interesting notes:
- NYCFC will contribute $250,000 to the Town for any infrastructure and/or recreational improvements the Town wishes to make and pay full property taxes. (Wonder if this shows they'll pay property taxes on the stadium)
- The Town citing that the land will be less rigorously used than under the previous agreement issued a determination of non-significance allowing NYCFC to avoid the environmental review process for their plans. (It's going to be built quicker)
- Sell the land to the LLC NYCFC (We've been idiots this whole time, we need to search LLC NYCFC not NYCFC LLC to find the stadium plans)

I think it is just poor wording. Should read, "Sell the land to the LLC that was formed by NYCFC"

The article says the team will make a formal announcement in the next few days. Hopefully there a lot more information there, maybe even renderings of the facility.
The early reports suggested only 1.5 fields, which sounds ridiculously small. The plot isn't huge, but it can fit more than that.
yes i read something like that early on and felt like, is it even worth it? just googling there is a land that i think is the one...i think they can fit two full sized ones, maybe a few smaller ones. it sure wont be like man city's training facilities thats for sure.
Definitely not like Man Citys, which is something like 80 acres. But our plot is the same size as the Red Bulls:

Scroll down to "training facility." They have four fields on about the same size plot.
Just for reference I did an acreage plot somewhere in the stadium thread, I think maybe for one of the Long Island City ones. Full stadium is about 9 acres, so in 16 acres you could probably fit three full-sized fields and another half-size one, approximately.

This is great stuff, although I will miss the occasional opportunity to see players taking Metro North out of Grand Central to go to training in Westchester.
An acre is 43,560 square feet. A 120 x 75 soccer pitch is 81,000 square feet, or a little under 2 acres. Some of this is a little dependent on the shape of the plot, but at 16 acres, there should be plenty of room for 4 training fields plus facilities.
One question is whether they build anything that might accommodate fans - whether a few bleachers to watch practice or something bigger to host a second-division affiliate and the occasional cup match. My gut says nothing more than something for practice.

Probably nothing more than practice. I highly doubt a USL team plays there. But maybe it could host a U-23 team in the NPSL or PDL like the Red Bulls do eventually.
I still like the idea of the USL team playing somewhere along I-95 between Westchester County and New Haven.
It will be interesting to see how robust a site they build. I took some heat for saying this in the stadium thread, but a training facility in Rockland and a stadium in Brooklyn or Queens becomes the dreaded 2-river crossing commute. If they build something elaborate, it has to mean they expect a stadium in Manhattan or the Bronx...
