Nycfc V Dc Postgame

Liked for awesomeness of post. Hated because he is that damn solid and more physical than pretty much anyone in any league.

He's a goddamned jewel. And our coach has used him roughly 30% of the time he was available. And people want to defend said coach. Not okay, man.

We all saw his quality in preseason. Except smug oompaloompa Kreis. He's so sad. He needs a witch to tell him what to do.
You will be number one in line for the Kreis facial in a year or two. =)...yes Poku needed to be played more up until now but there was a game or two early on where poke got extended minutes and was less then stellar. But clearly his talent is above most of our roster so yes he needed to play more, as I and you and a lot of the folks have been saying since day one.

Just for the record, that won't mean he did the right thing this year. Don't make that logical fallacy.
Dude, he even said it has been harder then he anticipated. Pretty much saying shit, it has been a real adjustment for him. People don't realize what he has had to deal with for over two years since he left RSL. Give the guy a break goodness. I have never seen an MLS coach get treated as bad as our fans treat this guy, who is one of the most well accomplished coaches in US Soccer!!!!! He was talked about taking over for Bob Bradely until Sunil gave the job to Jurgen. The guy has won an MLS Cup in which he built that RSL team and that system, came away within a goal of winning the biggest club trophy in MLS history, by almost beating Monterray in the CONCACAF Champions league with a third of a team in terms of money and yet people treat him here like he is an idiot. Like the fans know more, SMH.

Wait he screwed up our expansion draft and we were left with so many bad players? Care to tell me which players Orlando City took that we could of had that have been very good this year? The same Orlando City with a world class midfielder in Kaka the whole season. The same Orlando City that is fighting for the last playoff spot like us?????????? So if Kreis Played Wingert, Grabavoy, Ballouchy, etc all year, and you did not like that, tell me, who would you have played instead, who was on our depth chart that you would have played? I will be waiting.

There was more than one draft. Im sure you didnt know that.

The coin tossed was fucked up (thus we lost out on Larin), we picked Dunn over Delgado (home grown, scoring for Toronto) only to waive Dunn later, Traded Zizzo (a striker who starts for Red Bulls) for another Keeper (4 fucking keepers) Fitzgerald who is short as hell and we also waived, Grella (starts for NJRB) trialed with us and we thought the New York native wasnt good enough so didnt sign him, he now scores for Red Bulls. Thats just of the top of my head.

Alvarez is Better than Ballouchy or Grabavoy, he didnt play him. We had Facey but he played Wingert over him instead and when he did play Facey in the beginning he played him out of position. He played Nemec more than Mullins in the beginning of the season (not to mention he had Poku) He didnt play TMac for almost half the season as well and he is now a team favorite. Also I would rank ballouchy a slight step above Grabavoy and Wingert.

He tried to force some stupid Kreis system on players who werent suited for it instead of building a system around the players he had.

Your out of your depth Stark and have no idea what your talking about.

Why are we arguing? We won! Let's celebrate the victory and start bitching tomorrow.
No we aren't arguing, this is just fun banter. I love all of you guys, all of my NYCFC fans, we are witnessing something special and a season we will all remember in a good way, as we grow our history. We have to enjoy the ride man, as I have been saying. I have never been more emotionally invested in a team then with this team and it has been a real roller coaster and tonight feel so freaking sweet. and the losses to redbulls still hurt but the beauty of MLS is this.

We can sneak into the playoffs and face Redbulls in a two game series and win on agg. and then everything will feel like bliss!!!! That could very well happen.

Of course not MLS cup was not realistic in the beginning of the year and guess what, MLS CUP is MORE REALISTIC NOW THEN IT EVER WAS IN THE BEGINNING because of all of the better talent we have added. You just said our roster as utter crap but still say Kreis is in the wrong with the awful lineups. Contradicting?

Why are you attacking my dislike of Kries? He's a tactical idiot who plays guys out of position and expects them to preform at top levels.

(Damn, I fucking hate English. It makes me think whenever I try and type out replies)

Wednesday against Columbus. Then again on the 29th. We are 7 points behuind them with the same nunber of games played. We sweep them and we can catch them. Their defense is pretty poor.

I can see how Lampard fits in to this team too - I kept getting the sense early on that when we had the ball out wide, there was no one following up outside the box, and no real plan to work it towards the middle. Fat Frank is always good at poaching or late arrivals in the box. Probably Jacobson out.

Ok Cyle Larin you think would be having the same season with us as he is having with Orlando City?????? No way. You really are complaining about trading Sal Zizzo a journeyman MLS Midfielder, thinking he could have made a difference on this team, really???? I have news for you regarding Grella. Not only did NYCFC not want him, but neither did Redbulls. He trained with Redbulls many teams before training for NYCFC, and redbulls cut his ass twice, and told him to go kick rocks. The beloved Mike Petke said this guy is no good. Now Petke was never the tactical genius Jesse Marsch is but the bottom line is, the redbulls cut his ass twice and now you want to throw Mike Grella out at me, like he is some great player, GTFO. Alvarez is not better then Ballouchy or Grabavoy, have to disagree there. No way! Now that Nemec is not playing, where is Mullins??? Exactly...Facey has been a cog and a major piece to our backline starting since week 4 or 5, so not sure you what you are saying over here?????? Tommy Mac has been getting major minutes for a long time, again not sure what you are saying here.

Again the lineups have more to do with no real depth and trying to see where everyone fits in during game situations. After 20+ games I think we will see a consistent lineup because now we have the horses. You guys are grasping at straws man seriously.

Hope he gets healthy so that he can help us on the playoff push. (Even if I don't like him)

One worrying thought from an otherwise encouraging display :

When you have perhaps the leagues best deadball specialist, you always take long corners. The height disadvantage excuse does not hold weight when we have players like Poku, Mix and Jacobson. The short corner, especially when frequently used unsuccessfully and to the obvious surprise of the players themselves, points to shortcomings in the coaching staff. These drills are more a matter of disciplined training than chemistry.

LionNYC's Thoughts on Today's Match (as he re-watches the game on tape):
- 28K+ at the stadium? It felt empty at the early parts then people seemed to file in. It wasn't the loudest the stadium ever was with only two tiers, but it was exciting.
- I miss Ian Joy in the booth on YES. His voice is soothing and the voices over the broadcast today were early stages of the US Open Cup level.
- POKU!!! That's all that needs to be said about Poku. When NYCFC gets a new stadium, he's getting a statue outside.
- I had to watch the replay of the Pirlo ball to Villa. Fucking Brilliant. That's what the DP bucks are for.
- David Villa keep your god damn jersey on. You didn't score the winning goal of the World Cup in the 90+ minute. Yellow cards accumulate.
- Loved the crowd worshipping Poku at the end of the match. Besides the 60' Rush Hour Rally, I've never seen the supporters so coordinated in showing they're not worthy.
- The field looked really poor today, as a lot of players were slipping and falling on both ends. I think they watered it too much with the temperature so nice.
- I was wearing my Pirlo Party shirt the first half. I changed to my new long sleeve authentic primary Mix custom with the faces on the back (the name and numbers aren't aligned properly) and we scored 3 in the second half. I found a new lucky charm. Wearing all the way to the playoffs.
- When the match was over and Bill Hamid (who I will admit is one of the top three keepers in the league) was walking down the tunnel I said to him, "Three goals man, what was that?" He replied without looking at me, "First Place!" LOL!
- And finally the Stupid Comment of the Day: I said to McNamara close up to him, "You should be rookie of the year, you know, if you weren't injured and all." He said, "Thank you, that means a lot." I'm such an idiot and he knew it too.

God your terrible.

I didnt say these fucking players were amazing I said they were better options than we made. Zizzo and Grella scored and are starting for a team that has beat us in all our games and is at the top of the table.

You ignored Delgago over Dunn
You Ignored how we traded for another Keeper (4 fucking Keepers)

And of course Larin would be great here. Him and Villa up top would be amazing. How thick are you?

Tommy Mac didnt play for large portions of the season. People joked on here that he must of been fucking Kreis wife not to start him. Facey was being told to go back to Man City because Kreis played him as a Full Back and he was terrible.

Mullins not getting starting minutes now and playing Villa as a Target man is another shit move by Kreis im glad you admit it.

Yes their defense is poor and Steve Clark their goalie can be had, even though he makes some crazy saves sometimes, he as a small frame and his air game is lacking. We can possibly see our first Corner Kick goal this game.

Plus the crew have been inconsistent at home this year. We can win this game. What scares me is our ability to defend the cross against them in the box with Kamara.

Well, he certainly hasn't shown anything that would lead me, a person new to MLS, to believe that he is great. There's still plenty of time for him to change my mind.

exactly. You make a good point, a lot of our fans are first time MLS fans and have not experienced how good this guy is. Which is fine, like You said time will tell.
