what happened around the 3 min mark when someone popped smoke and cop came? was anyone ejected?

Thats exactly what happened. The poor guy got thrown out he was trying to get rid of it after someone threw in his direction.

Thanks Gator, it is unfortunate especially since its the guy that didn't do it.
There was an extremely tedious comment thread in the NYCFC supporters group on FB this morning, with an argument between those who take the position that (1) it's OK to bring in smoke and it's not their fault if YS security throws out the wrong people, and those who say (2) as long as we know YS will throw out the wrong people it's irresponsible to bring in smoke and nt own up to it. I just skimmed it to see if it ever went in an unexpected direction but it went on for several dozen comments with nothing said beyond those two basic positions over and over.
I agree with the second opinion.
