I guess it's possible if we somehow have allocation money left. His salary in US dollars would translate to roughly 1.3 mil range and if this new "core player" rule is coming into effect then we could use it on him. All I know is we're working some MLS roster magic. We have no idea what the roster rules are and no one seems interested in being transparent like they say they were going to. Ganso would be amazing though.I don't think it has been mentioned but he also said they were still working on Gonso
that's because they doHow do you guys understand the mysterious and ever changing rules of MLS?
I'm convinced that they just randomly make up new rules whenever it's convenient.
Do the 4 Manchester loanees count against international spots? They might not.I can't figure out how we are getting all these international spots:
Villa, Lampard, Pirlo, Iraola, Facey, Angelino, Nemec, Calle, Alvarez, Johannssen is ten. Plus Tefu and/or Mena is 12.
We could conceivably play a staring XI with no americans in it.
I don't really rate him at all as a source of information. The NYCFC Watch guy
I thought we started with eight and bought two more.
Didn't we get one from New England for leaving Fagundez alone?I tried to dig into it recently and could only find evidence that we purchased one from DC United. The rules state we start with eight. So my count is nine spots available.
¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Don't recall ever sending that tweet out or anything ever mentioning Ganso. Would be news to me lolThe NYCFC Watch guy

As a content aggregator, absolutely - it's a really useful follow. But as a primary source, it's no better than the terrible @MLStransfers, IMO.
Edit: That being said, I'd be positively giddy by adding Ganso. That's the slowest midfield in MLS, but it's easily the most effortlessly skilled midfield in MLS history.
Ganso at the point of the diamond, Mix and Lamps shuttling, and Pirlo at the base pinging in passes? We'd lose some games 5-4, sure, but good god that team would be primetime viewing.
Not Ganso. Jefferson Mena.FWIW, here's the most recent cryptic tweet about it:
Not Ganso. Jefferson Mena.
Some Medellin related accounts were saying it wasn't happening but FWIW he recently posted to Instagram a farewell and has started following NYCFC.Ah. Well that's what happens when you tweet vaguely, lol. I hadn't heard anything about Mena potentially staying at Medellin, so I assumed this was in reference to the Ganso rumor.

Well in the spirit of this thread, Freddy Adu is headed back to the US. Though I have a feeling he is more fit for the Wilmington Hammerheads than NYC
Just out of curiosity, why do you do the tweets without a name, or say you are going to say information later? Why the cryptic messages? Some Medellin related accounts were saying it wasn't happening but FWIW he recently posted to Instagram a farewell and has started following NYCFC.
Nah, let's sign him. If we really want to own the "New York is the Evil Empire" narrative, there's no better way to do it than by signing and rehabbing Freddy Adu.Well in the spirit of this thread, Freddy Adu is headed back to the US.
