Theres no loan to "get". He is a free agent this winter. But his salary demands would probably put him over the DP amount.
Mix would win new York. I think that is why he balked at going to the crew, and I think that's why kreis jumped on the allocation spot.

if diskerud is a DP, then we wouldn't have to use the top allocation spot on him. Unless the rules changed again. That is why im thinking he wouldn't be a DP.
That would mean when it comes to next season we would have first dibs on him.

I'd love to see Diskerud in NYCFC. Having watched him for a while in Norway now I'm positive he'll do good. Hopefully he won't be a DP though.
However, as a Nats fan, I really hope he doesn't come to MLS.

USMNT players or returning MLS players go through allocation UNLESS they are above a certain threshold. Bradley and Dempsey were above the certain threshold, so no allocation. Sounders' Pappa wasn't so Seattle used a allocation. We don't know where Mix would rank.
Mix Diskerud's current value is around 1.5m Euros so I would assume his salary demands would be around DP level.

Id rather mix come here, start, and gain confidence than go to a bigger league in europe, for some middle table team and ride the bench.

I'd be very surprised if Mix was not a DP. You're talking about a guy most likely giving up his European dreams to come to MLS. He's definitely going to ask for a chunk of change for that to happen.
I remember Kasey Keller talking about this in one of the World Cup panels they had for ESPN. I'm going off memory but he basically said that Mix likely feels that if he leaves Europe now then that will be the end of his hope of one day playing in a high profile league. Which is why he was hesitant the last time there were MLS teams interested.

His current salary is under DP wages. He'll probably want a raise, but DP salary min will rise as well.
I feel pretty good that the reason we got that allocation spot was for him. There's no one else it could be, unless it's a Danny Williams type (who also would be a great MLS player, or a good player in any league if he could stay healthy). I think most of the other possible "returning" players are either in the primes of their careers and would require a salary above the "certain threshold" OR too young and still working their way through/gaining experience. And there's always the 3rd choice, old and inexperienced with little talent. Lots of Yanks abroad that can fill that role.
Please don't let them use on Brek Shea. Please, please, please.

I believe Portland has his rights. Someone tried signing him but failed. I think it was Portland and they still hold discovery rights, but who knows with MLS.
I think Joe Gyau would be perfect for this squad. Villa on the left, Nacho up top and Gyau on the right.
I think it was the Red Bulls. They didn't want to Minnesota a transfer fee.
