Official Vent Thread

oooh this is not bad! repeat the "cin" twice. I usually do "cin-ci-nati" in my head. but i bet this could fix it! I'll report back next time we play them
I thought that last night but then this morning I could not remember if it was cin-cin-atti or cin-cin-nati. I guessed the former, because it seemed more elegant somehow.

I don't know who decided to give Michigan, the Vikings and NYCFC an off weekend at the same time but I want that person fired. It's so dumb. Just think of all people who are fans of all 3 teams. I mean there's literally 2 of us. TWO!
Well, I earned a lot of bonus points for spending the week away from sports. Banking them for later in the year (I hope).

F apple for not having a 2fa option for non-apple users that doesn't require phone number.

I'm out of the country and can't get sms, and the only other way to do 2fa is with either a registered apple product (which is my work laptop which I don't have) or via an apple product offline where you can "get a verification code offline"... Which still doesn't help.

What about email? What about using an authentication app like everything else? Ugh. Couldn't watch the game bc of it.

I had this problem while trying to fly during a game. My work Apple phone wouldn't work because I had a separate Apple account for it.

Does anyone know why one of the Citi parking lot exits was at a complete standstill for 20+ minutes after the match last night?

What did you say your name was? Insult? Nice to meet you. My name’s Injury. Feels like I’ve known you for quite some time.

Because they have 18 rows of cars trying to merge into 2 exit lanes? (Only slight hyperbole there)

The only lot I've ever been able to get out of quickly is Lot E. Every other lot is a complete mess. I had a relatively quick exit out of Lot C last night and it still took 20 minutes.

Yes. With Lot E closed, everyone had to go out via Lot C.
I confess I left around '85 to avoid the gridlock.

Yeah. Agonizingly slow I could understand. I literally turned my car on and 20 minutes later hadn't gotten out of my parking spot. Not 1 car length of movement had occurred. People were getting out of their cars and wandering forward to try to figure out what was happening.

Crowded lots with limited exits act this way. It’s partly basic flow physics with human nature added in. I experienced the same thing at the US Grand Prix in Austin on race day last month.
Basically you have one exit with a handful of primary feeder roads in the lot and each feeder is in turn fed by multiple parking rows.
As it works, all the cars closest to the exit go first and everyone else stands still until everything in front of them clears out. There’s no gradual movement throughout. You just sit until it’s mostly empty in front of you then go comparatively quickly.

Yep. That happened to me after the Cincy game. Think it took me 30 minutes to move -- and the attendance was under 20k. I went to a couple concerts at Citi Field this summer, it took me an hour to get out of my parking spot. The bottlenecks there can get pretty miserable.

No idea where else to post this lol.
Temporary new profile picture while we await the next head coach announcement. Bonus points if anyone can figure out who are in the windows (if you can even zoom in far enough on the photo itself ) ...and no, i won't send you the original 600x600 image lol

The MLS schedule release, including the June pause for CWC and GC, has me thinking about schedule congestion and tournament overload. My laughably unlikely impossible proposal is that no international tournaments happen more than once every 4 years. Really, none:
  • Year 1 - World Cup
  • Year 2 - Confederations Club Champions Leagues, made up of actual league and/or domestic cup champions only from the previous 4 years. Maybe dip to a 2nd place team in the case of repeat champions.
  • Year 3 - Club World Cup, using the top teams in each Confed from the Year 2 Champions League competitions
  • Year 4 - Confederations national team tournaments (eg Copa America, Gold Cup, Euros) which doubles as WC qualy.
  • Domestic cups continue every year.
  • Secondary international tourneys like Nations Cups and Leagues Cups get yeeted into the sun.
Obvious and only relevant obstacle is lots and lots of bucketloads of money foregone, so much you don't need to consider other obstacles. I do realize fans would miss annual champions league, but damn every tournament would be absolutely massive - even compared to now - when it did happen every 4 years.

There's just way too many overlapping competitions. They bore me. Less is more.

ETA: Also, One domestic cup per country. Good-bye EFL Cup, Cariboo-hoo.
