Premier League 2020/21

The VAR offsides madness continues. It looks like technology makes humans more stupid. The Maddison goal was such superb soccer and somehow part of his arm was ahead of the last defender who looked to be clearly keeping him onsides. Next order of business after the ejection of a morally bankrupt president and ending covid is to end the VAR offside insanity.

Now hopefully I won't jinx things and make them go undefeated for the rest of the year, but is it possible , just possible? That current Liverpool aren't the greatest team in the world (and one of the greatest ever) as the British media and most people on Sirius XM have tried to lead us to believe over the last year plus?

It’s amazing how the internet is filled with Liverpool fans convinced that the refs, media and fate conspire against them, and Liverpool haters even more convinced of the opposite. I’m not sure who’s more ridiculous. But that team seems to inspire Qanon level conspiracy belief, even more than sports fans are generally prone to indulge in.

NBCSN shutting down. Premiere League games will be on USA, NBC, and Peacock.

The Premier League on USA (and not on only Championship Sunday) just feels...weird.

So weird Seeing City back on top fueled by their defense. Not that they don'ts till play some pretty stuff but without a true forward right now it's being water tight at the back that has them back to being the best team in England.

and the reason why they have a much better chance at winning the champions league this year over any other

The problem with defensive-minded approach, imo, is that it means one bad day at the office at the back and it can all go to hell. Obviously same can be said about the offensive side, but I tend to think defensive errors are more costly than offensive ones. (and that specifically applies to knockout tournaments)

I am putting my money on Atletico for CL

city are just as dangerous going forward. maybe not as dangerous as they have been in the past and without aguero and debruyne, they aren't as lethal. but having a solid defense gives a lot more confidence going forward. of course a bad day on defense could be catastrophic, but that is also atleti's game. city have many more weapons going forward and if aguero and debruyne are back for CL, they will be difficult to beat.

Guess we'll find out!

City are rolling. Liverpool are reeling. And everyone else kind of in between.

I think United and Leicester have to be favorites to join City in the CL

Will be a real fight between West Ham, Chelsea, Liverpool and Everton to try to get in as well.
