My brother showed me an alternative to google chrome called Opera which has a free VPN built into it. I tried getting it to work with espn+ and honestly it was a pain in the neck to get everything to finally load. But it did get around the blocked content to show me one of the replay games from last year. So I dont know if its totally worth it but it worked for me yesterday
Not a bad recommendation. could potentially be doable. based on a bit of googling, seems opera's VPN uses a canadian service, which may not be blocked by ESPN+. worth a shot.
i'm gonna give it a go and will report back if ESPN+ works. won't know for sure if it will show up as "out of region" for watching the game this weekend, but it should as long as it doesn't use a NY area based server for some reason.
UPDATE:
I can confirm ESPN+ does work with Opera's VPN option enabled. I don't have a way to check for out of region viewing yet. So, i'll have to see what happens this weekend.
Process is pretty simple if anybody wants to give it a try. Download and install the opera browser. Go into settings and enable the VPN. that's it.
i wonder if i change cyberghost to put me in Toronto (or anywhere in Canada) it will let me stream espn+. I’ve been using different locations in USA. I’ll update tomorrow.
