Saw that Kekuta Manneh didn't play for a "coach's decision" for Vancouver last week. Maybe he's being moved. Imagine a front line of Manneh-Villa-Harrison. Yeah, chance of it happening is about 0%, but that would be filthy.

There are really 2 areas to go for in an upgrade: a better CB and a winger to start beside Villa and Harrison. If Mena-Brilliant is the desired combo (and I think that must have been the idea at the beginning of the season...you want the strong/smooth combo - i.e. Puyol-Pique) then you get that winger. It's also harder to integrate a new CB to the backline as chemistry is key with your starting CBs. But Hernandez should be #3 at best by the end of the transfer window.

You also need midfield depth, but that will happen if you get that winger and move TMac back as Gotham Gator Gotham Gator mentions above.

vancouver had the second leg canadian championship last week so they are probably just rotating guys in.

T Tom in Fairfield CT , I generally agree with your take about Lampard in this thread. But I wouldn't argue as strongly due to his smaller sample size of starts, much less his performance in just one game.

He's found a way to contribute some positive plays despite just getting healthy a few weeks ago. If he doesn't keep improving, and Mix stays, I'd agree with your plan to play Mix and use Lampard off the bench or at least in a rotation. But I'm cool with giving Lampard a few more games - even he admitted after the game he's still not quite 100% match fit. Also, Mix has had plenty of chances to show he's the answer and he hasn't shown it.

As usual I appreciate your response. I'm trying to get out of this one man battle, but I have to say mix hasn't had a chance to play with iraola or harrison yet either.

I agree that this is a massive point. I just don't want want to argue with anyone over this at this time. Maybe next week I'll join the proactive battle on this front.

As is, we're winning. I thought Lampard had a pretty good game. But I usually think Mix plays pretty well, too.

Without a chip on their shoulders, they're a very average team. Without their physical play, they're a very average team. Their style & tactics have been adapted to by the league, hence their league leading 9 losses.... Marsch is a very average coach, and with his contract extension they're stuck with him for a while.

Which is a good thing as far as I'm concerned. I love hating that dude and I don't really hate any of their players.

makes you wonder if their mercurical play is because of marsch's up and down nature.

i was a kreis guy last year but viera really showed me the importance of leadership. it could be the most important part of being a coach. if we kept the xs and os and the players the same as last year, and i think we would still be a better team.

lol is like they never seen rivalry before. this is all childs play in terms of rivalry....even if its in twitter.

you win...you have the right to celebrate till next time....pretty fucking sure they did all that after the 7-0.

Possibly. But at a certain fundamental level, playing away should not be on the absolute opposite end of the spectrum with no wins - their win at YS, a ten mile drive, is hardly considered 'away'. So that begs the question of how badly he prepares them mentally and psychologically. Honestly, he got lucky last year because his players bought into his system, but it's a one-time thing now that the league has adapted - it's not as if he had any success in Montreal.

Twelve teams in MLS have one or fewer home wins. That's more than half, which makes it the norm. It's not him. Obviously better teams aspire to more, but they're a mediocre team. I think you agree with that. But it also means it's not all him.
