Same Boring Frank Lampard Thread 2.0

Frank is everything this team is missing. Accurate passing, crisp 1-2 looks, strong, accurate finishing. Can't wait for him to come over. Great way to close out his EPL career.
We are mainly missing defenders that can defend and go forward. Or really do anything but concede goals.

Lampard just now after scoring probably his final premiership goal, standing ovation from over 40k. You've got a class act!

Celebrating a meaningless goal in a game that has no effect on anything while we're falling apart.
If you saw last night, Villa plays a great ball ~20 yards out, but no one can play him that second ball he makes a run for. Frank can make that play, if he's playing the attacking midfield. Having a midfielder who can consistently play a strong ball to the foot of a forward will be nice.

Conceding goals is surely a concern, but we're scoring fewer than 1 per game. That's equally, if not moreso, disgraceful.

Of course, and it makes our games so dull to watch. I just don't think that Lampard coming is going to fix all of our problems. Think if he was here since day 1 we would still be near the bottom of the table.

Lampard is able to make those runs because he has Silva, Toure, and Fernando in midfield to take care of the ball. Who's gonna do that at NYCFC? He's gonna have to drop back just like Mix.

Lampard doesn't have the make the run, he just needs to be near the 18 to feed Villa. His movement has been fine, however, and there's a huge gap between the forwards and the midfielders that he should be able to fill. Joy mentioned it last night, how badly the team needs a leader, or a "general". It would probably take time to mesh, but I don't see why a guy like Frank couldn't lead the team in that respect.

Of course Lampard is not a miracle cure. We won't become one of the better teams in the league over night simply by putting him in the line up but we will become a better team than we are right now and hopefully by a decent amount. There is no possible way to argue that he isn't an upgrade over what we have right now. There is so much to bitch and whine about with this team but Lampard coming is not one of those things. If you want to bitch and moan about the delay in him coming fine but that's been done ad nauseam at this point. I want him on the field as soon as possible and as often as possible.

Assuming the transfer window rules hold true with him, he can play his first game on the 12th of July. He can practice with the team beforehand, though, right?
July 12th seems so far.

I would like to hear what Man City and CFG would say if they knew where they would end up in Premier League and UEFA Champions League at the end of the season, if they would they have even "signed" Lampard to Man City. The only value he provided was merchandise sales. He would have been a better factor in games playing for NYC.

Damn. Lampard could still play in the Premier League for a couple more years, either regularly for a lesser side or as an impact player at a top team like he has done for City this season. The guy is a machine, he has an innate ability to be in the right place at the right time, it's something that can't be taught. Trust me, Lampard has the potential to be a real force in the MLS.
