The good news is that Frank is officially not on any MCFC roster for their American tour, which would mean he can train immediately, I'd guess.

It's all about expectations given money spent and previous finishes. I know a lot of Bayern fans who were disappointed after only winning the league. All about relative expectations and City had a pretty bad season, over all.
Right, but you are comparing a dissapointing second finish in the Prem to us being bottom of the table in MLS. A guy who was the 3rd/4th leading goal scorer for a second place team in the Prem is worth something to an MLS bottom feeder.
Liverpool were dissapointing this year. Phillippe Coutinho scored 5 goals. Raheem Sterling scored 7. There is more to a game than scoring goals, but don't tell me Lampard wasn't a useful cog in a team headed back to Europe.

Oh yeah I agree, my point wasn't that he isn't good enough for us or not a good fit for us. That's a completely different discussion. I was just saying that his last season in England probably wasn't the most successful or the best for him or City.
They still made him a priority signing and to be honest, it kind of worked out for Man City.

How did it work out for them? Their goal was winning the Champions League and the Premier League title. Neither of the goals were met. Second place and no trophies isn't good enough for a club that spent that much money. They would have most likely finished the same exact position without Lampard, and even if they didn't, there's hardly a difference between third place and no trophies and second place and no trophies.
The difference between 2nd and 3rd place is about £5 million.they went out the champions league to the probable winners.Chelsea,arsenal,did nothing Liverpool didn't get out the group and united couldn't get in it in the first place.Liverpool spent £100 million plus utd spent £150 million plus and both achieved nothing .Chelsea increased their loan from abramovitch to over £1 billion and bought around £100 m worth of new players in.not as good of season exspected but still 2 champions and 2 runners up in the last 4 seasons .which is better than Chelsea,arsenal,utd and Liverpool
On the interesting but less contentious topic of "when will he start playing for us," I went back and looked at several news articles from early January after the mess got somewhat sorted out and they are consistent in saying that the NYCFC contract he finally signed for real starts July 1. None of them discuss the transfer window and whether he has to wait until the July 12 game after the Jul 8 MLS transfer window opens, but that's probably the case.
NYDN is reporting Lamps will be back on 4 July @ Montreal.

If you want to blame Lampard for the fiasco, you're simply wrong. According to this, MCFC had to reach an agreement with NYCFC to use him, Frank was frustrated over it.

Good catch. I bet they're just looking at the Jul 1 contract start date and ignoring the transfer window.
It doesnt say that mate it says frank was frustrated that after staying on after Xmas pellergrini didn't play him much
I must have misread it then. Regardless, it still tells us what happened with his contract.
Well the article does explicitly say he will play against Montreal on July 4. I am merely guessing this is mistaken. I still haven't seen a club announcement and I think the transfer rules apply.
