Same Boring Frank Lampard Thread 2.0

Honestly every fan base has its assholes. In the time this forum has been up some awfully vulgar things have been said towards fans of other clubs, not just MCFC, by NYCFC Supporters.
I'd say 95% of every fan base just wants to support the team. Go to games or watch on tv. Buy merchandise and so on. 5% want to be more involved. Join forums like this. Use Facebook, Twitter and so on to reach other fans. Of those 5% probably not even 1% actively seek out confrontation and defend their team for no reason at all.
I think that's true here as well. Of our 1500 members not even 10 continuously argue and hate on others.
Can't let a handful of people affect how you view an entire group just because they offend you.
If an MCFC supporter comes here with an interest in NYCFC I can't and won't tell them to leave because their affiliation with MCFC offends other members. The same way I wouldn't tell a united/Chelsea/other epl supporter that it's weird they'd support NYCFC when the sister club is MCFC.
Whatever it is that brought you here other clubs you support shouldn't have any barring on your fandom. If you've truly taken an interest in the club then the fact I support MCFC and an asshole on Twitter cursed at you shouldn't make me a bad person for supporting MCFC.
Their forums are made up of ten of thousands of members. And of them only a handful have taken an interest in the team enough to come here and share in the discussion. So that should give you an idea of how little MCFC supporters from England, who actually go to matches and support the team in the manner those here do, care about what you, me or any NYCFC supporter think.
At the end of the day just support the club. Discuss the club with other members. There's no reason any discussion on here should ever turn into a hate fest for a team outside of the MLS. I think years down the road this will be looked at as a minor bump in the road.

Well the article does explicitly say he will play against Montreal on July 4. I am merely guessing this is mistaken. I still haven't seen a club announcement and I think the transfer rules apply.
They spent almost 75 million to add to a squad that was already the most expensive in the league. They won no trophies, at all. I can't see how that is anything but an abject failure. If that was Chelsea's season I would be very very disappointed, along with the majority of other Chelsea fans. I think City fans probably think the same thing.
City's gross spend may have been around £70m but when the transfer fees recd for Garcia, rodwell, negrado huws and Sinclair are taken into account they probably spent hardly anything.Manchester utd turned the most expensive team in premiership history out week after week last season.

I like this

I reckon he'll have a week off then resume light training until he makes his debut.
Yeah I think you're right. I imagine he'll take a week off maybe 2 then come and at the very least get around the guys and start to get acclimated to everything.

This @Nicholas Constantino

It's not about what they spent. It's about the net spend. Everton spent about 35 Million last offseason. It was the Mourane Fellaini money, so net-net, they spent nothing.

Their net spend was still over 50 million. They won nothing. That is not a good season. Like I said, Chelsea had a terrible season last year, as did City this year. Its all about expectations.

What's all this to do with Frank Lampard? Seems this thread is being used to beat MCFC/CFC/LFC or another FC with a stick!
It is being used to gauge the effectiveness of MCFC's decision to keep Lampard.

NYCFC_Dan you are right there will always be assholes, thanks for all you do to keep this a place to exchange ideas about NYCFC and soccer in general regardless of EPL alliances (Arsenal fan myself).

Your just making stuff up.city's net spend last season was around £24 million

England is funny. When you say net spend, does that include wages? For instance, the Rickie Lambert move cost 30 Million - I think 5 Million in transfer fee and 25 Million in wages.
