Am I the only one who thinks this is a great idea? I'm not crazy about the optics of moving the Middle East World Cup to the US. That's just some bad karma.
China has been pushing very hard for a World Cup. I could see them getting 2022 if it does indeed get moved.

Why would China get awarded the World Cup? Aren't they a bitter enemy/rival of many nations who would never vote for them?China has been pushing very hard for a World Cup. I could see them getting 2022 if it does indeed get moved.
U.S. already has an infrastructure if the World Cup were to be moved here.First off, so stoked that blatter is gone. A horrible human being.
If Qatar is stripped for bribing and violating human rights it would be nice to have a co-hosted north america tournament with Canada or mexico.
If we get the world cup, i just hope we don't spend erroneous amounts of money on stadiums like brazil did….like build a stadium in hawai surrounded by volcanos or some shit.
If not, maybe Australia would be nice.

Their domestic league doesn't even get the support that MLS does and they have thousands upon thousands of more people who could be filling the stadium seats.
Let's not forget that China's national team is abysmal on the pitch.

1. see On the flip side, there are many other nations and federations that may not like the US now because of this or other non sporting reasons ( political, economical etc). So maybe they would not vote for US and would vote china.
2. well having a good league is not even a requirement, I mean the US was awarded 94 and the US had no league at all a the time. I think one of the conditions to give US the world cup was to create a league to "grow the game" here in the USA.
3. South Africa/ Japan/ S. korea werent really powerhouses either so that dont matter either to host it seems.
all of this depends on who is in charge next, if its someone that wants change then probably a revote will occur. If its someone that didnt like what happened here ( even of no bribes were taken by that person) with the FBI DOJ, then they wont give anything to the US and may not even strip Qatar 2022, this is still up in the air since blatter is still in power until his "successor" takes over. We dont know if he will pull strings begin close doors to influence votes ( non bribes even,) for a guy he believes will be like him, if so then we are back in square one.
This is all politics and we shall see how it plays out.
see thats the thing, from the little i have followed past couple of days, the FBI investigations are about bribing and stuff, and sadly i dont see much about Human rights, which is equally if not more important issue. Qatar bringing migrant workers and have live in shit conditions should of set off alarms a long time ago. especially after over 1000 lives have been lost.
Yeah, no need to build stadiums, we've got more than enough football (NFL) stadiums to host it again. The host cities would probably just have to spruce up the roads and parking lots and refresh hotels to handle the traffic.U.S. already has an infrastructure if the World Cup were to be moved here.
Yeah I don't think Russia will be revoked maybe Qatar that's a big maybe though. We'll see what happens but U.S. is World Cup ready tbh.Yeah, no need to build stadiums, we've got more than enough football (NFL) stadiums to host it again. But I doubt either Russia or Qatar will get their bids revoked . . . already too many contracts have been signed that it would take years in court to sort that out.
