If NYCFC went crazy and decided to build one in Staten Island, on site of Richmond County ballpark is, is it plausible?
Not happening ever, I know, but asking for fun.

Richmond County Ballpark is still in use, being used by the Atlantic League team there now.

building in staten island is marginally better than building in NJ and basically has the only advantage that it is "within city limits". arguably, getting to staten island would be much more of a hassle if you didn't have a car... and maybe even with a car depending on traffic.

anything they build needs to be public transit accessible and the staten island ferry isn't gonna cut it.

Why not? Its a breeze using the ferry.

You have to get to the ferry before you can take it.
Also each ferry apparently holds about 5,000 people, so it would take several ferries just to get everyone who was at the stadium out, and there'd be tons of people who didn't go to the game taking it as well. The transportation capacity just isn't there, even if we're generous and say half the fans drive (which they wouldn't).

It would be pretty fucking epic that the “March to the stadium” would occur on a ferry. Just imagine the drums and singing on there would be so cool.

But obviously as you guys pointed out, logistically a non starter

my guess is... RBNJ and NYCFC have partnered to share RBA for the foreseeable future. rivalry week BOMB!
