Stadium Discussion

Where can we see the lease agreement?
The memorandum of the lease agreement is available on the city register site (ACRIS). The full lease agreement (and assignment of leases and sublease) are not available there. I have submitted FOIL requests for all that documentation.

To summarize what I mean by lease, assignment of lease, and sublease...

NYC Land Development Corporation has the lease with the City for the land. They are then assigning their lease to QDG Development II LLC, who then is assigning the lease to CFG Stadium Group, LLC who is then subleasing it to New York City FC.

Did we ever learn who owns CFG Stadium Group? I assume from the press reports its CFG 90/Clausure 10 and the Yankees are not in at that level. Do you know if that is true?

It's going to be pretty bad on Monday when the team is forced to send tweets about this Etihad announcement 36 hours after the season was ended by our biggest rival. Woof. I don't envy the social media manager.

I believe it ended up being a 80/10/10 split with CFG, Yankees, and Claure.

Yankees originally had 20% of the holding co that didn’t include stadium but they’ve shifted that. I’m working to confirm ownership structure all the way up.

Tangentially related to multiple threads but not specific to any: while we were playing in Citi Field Saturday our other home was a shitshow outside as people tried to get into the Notre Dame Army game.
This is worse than anything we've seen at a NYCFC game.

We've only had 40k twice, both in 2015. Really need to know how costs for these games/matches are allocated. Did ND, the "home" team, not request the full staffing?

It's not usually this bad, but it's always awful getting into Yankee Stadium. There are always lines. They only have one magnetometer per gate, so everyone gets funneled through one mag, then you can use like 5 entrances to enter. They need to have more magnetometers screening people.

The Yankees really couldn't care less about the fan experience at their ballpark. It's so frustrating as a fan to walk up and know it will take 30 minutes to get in. Meanwhile you go to Citi Field and you're immediately in the building because they have a ton of mags working outside the main entrance. It makes literally no sense that Yankee Stadium can't figure that out.

I'm inclined to put this on the Stadium. As ZYanksRule ZYanksRule notes, Yankee Stadium has a history of being unable to get fans inside properly, even if usually not quite this bad. I think a certain percentage of Yankee fans and NYCFC fans have come to learn that for big crowds you have to arrive very early which spreads out the crowd more. One-off events like the football game attracts people who assume Yankee Stadium is competently run so everyone arrives 20-30 minutes before game time. Rumor mill thinks Michigan will play in the Pinstripe Bowl this year. If so, my family probably will go and I'm going to make us get there 45-60 minutes early. It's stupid but you have no other good choice.

But also, the venue has the knowledge and responsibility to say "If you sell under 30k tickets, we charge X. From 30-40k we charge Y, to pay for additional food staff and security and open more gates. Above 40k costs Z for the same reason."
Don't let the event promoter buy an inadequate staff for the size of the event.

And this year.

That's just terrible. If the Yankees were capable of feeling embarrassment, they'd feel a lot of it.

Worth noting that they do have the new magnetometers that don't require removal of keys, phones, etc., which does allow people to move much faster. Wonder what the problem was on Saturday.
