Stadium Discussion

If I might make a suggestion for the thread name: Stadium Discussion (date of last news story or info)

That way every time news came out there would be a predictable naming convention and it would also keep us aware of just how long it's been since the last real news.

For example, right now our thread title would be:

Stadium Discussion (12/29/15)

That was the last time there was info that came out about the site in the upper Bronx being for a training facility and not for a stadium. It would also make it easy for someone to track back to find the last real news and skip past all the speculation and ramblings.
And this wouldn't even take much work from the mods. Good idea footy!

I think the most important point, along these lines, is that if the current MSG were to be razed to the ground for redevelopment, a soccer stadium would probably be the single option for that site that would make the least people the least money. And generally, things that make the most people the most money are things that happen.

And for the cost of acquiring and developing there, CFG could buy out the elevator site 50x over.
Red Bull Arena - Yankee Stadium
GAL site - Madison Square Garden

All scaled to the same size.

I feel bad for the new president, Jon, that has to go through nearly 4000 posts on 200 pages to understand his mission at the club...or the intern that has to summarize all of this for him.
I know you're probably joking but do You think they look at any of these public forums?

Going through all those pages is definitely a joke. But I can garrentee that someone in the Front Office knows this forum exists and checks it regularly. I bet more than one of them do. There were even rumors a while back that Patrick Vieira either has an account or read parts of our forum. So yes he's joking about all the pages but at the same time it's a little serous! Also, be nice, you never know who's reading what you post!;)

I'll guess 2020.... How many years till some of you start getting mad at the team for this?

2020 for an announcement? Or you think it will actually be built in 4 years with no location even announced yet?

2018 announced 2020 start playing.
I don't know why you have to add the last part, maybe your way of acting smart. And believe me I'm not optimistic.
I am far from that, I'm mad that they don't have it done now. I don't want to hear the "it's NYC, it's hard".... Get it done, that was part of the deal, MLS said in order to become a franchise you need to have a stadium. So everyone knew that coming in. I'm not going to give a team a pass, even if it's my own team.

The 28th team in MLS plays its first regular season match or we open our new stadium? What comes first?
