Stadium Discussion

What if the PSL included the rights to our seats for any soccer event in the stadium. (If we paid for the ticket of course, but 1st right of refusal)?
Dallas PSL includes first right to any event in the stadium concerts included. Giants/jets get to buy Giants/jet tickets... For $30k... That's a fucking rip off. I doubt we will have PSL's but it's a concern because even a slight possibility is a possibility.

MLS is built on affordable economic pricing for millennials. I don't think there's more than 1% of fans currently at Yankee Stadium for an NYCFC match that would pay 5-10x their annual season ticket price for the right to buy those tickets.

But if you want to ask the President of the club, he reads the forums. @Jon_Patricof, any answer?

We've been back and forth on stadium size for a while. A few things.

- Our fan support is growing. Over the last half of last year, we averaged 32,321, with 4 games over 30,000 and a median of 28,232. This was while the club was playing poorly and losing hope of making the playoffs.
- We are not building a stadium for next year or even just the first year in the new stadium (maybe 5 years from now). We are building for the next 20-25 years. MLS is growing steadily, and we need to take into account the number of fans we will have in 2030 or 2040.
- You don't build to create a sellout for every game. You build to have a close to full stadium every game. Getting to 80-90% full is still enough for a great atmosphere and fan experience.

I think the minimum size should be 33,000, with optimal being 35,000 - easily expandable to 45-50,000.

If multi use, they'll have to have it expandable, though I think location dictates some seating capacity as well...but I get what you are saying. Which we all are saying and probably what the organization is saying. That could be a reason why they are waiting...to see how the demand plays out for a few years before investing $500/m + for a soccer stadium in New York.

We're all so damn excited by Pier 40. We should let the team know. Why should we just accept GAL or wherever? It feels like they wore us out to submission, so we'd jump at any location, even College Point!!! Maybe we need to have a little rally at Pier 40 and let them know how we feel...

Pier 40 tifo for a home game?
Maybe just a "we need a stadium" tifo? If we specify Pier 40 and the front office knows that can't possibly happen it'll be a simple "no" in their minds. If we don't mention a specific place we perhaps increase our chances of somebody saying something positive.

Forgot to post this, but the Yankees just installed brand new, state-of-the-art lighting at YS, so the lighting is going to be... better, somehow.

According to Google it's a 7 minute walk from the Houston St. 1 train stop, a 12 minute walk from the West 4th St. station and an 8 minute walk from the Christopher St. PATH station.

And how long does it take from grand central or penn station? That's my point.
