While I like the okra guy I have to go with this one. I went to Stuyvesant in the '70s, and I have to say that nothing struck fear into the hearts of the opposing football team than knowing they were about to play the Stuyvesant Peglegs.

What's that you say? That wasn't fear in their hearts inspired by the thought of being chased around the field by a guy with a wooden leg? Well, crap.

This is Collegiate's mascot.

Well here's some info on the light rail that was discussed a few pages ago. From the map, it doesn't look like it gets us any closer to our potential site then the current subway. But who the hell knows how accurate the map is. And we still have no proof the site is anything more then someone's hope for a location he posted on FB.

I didn't have any problem submitting the survey, and didn't read any reports of people having issues in the other thread. My guess is there was an internet or server hiccup just as Cat was trying to submit.
My other guess is there were no questions about the ADA facilities because that is a given. Of course some level of compliance is required by law, and I bet they have good data from season 1 and the Yankees about the level of interest and need for the new stadium.
I had to look up BB2N. It's an obscure and non-offensive reference to an incident on a Villanove basketball bulletin board when a player named Bilal Benn transferred from Villanova ro Niagara University and apparently people kept posting the news even though it was repeatedly posted earlier.
Bilal Benn 2 Niagara.

Thanks . U r better than an
Encyclopedia! :) I would have never guessed.

which potential site are you referring to

Sorry, the Hunters Point site from the other night. I forgot who, but someone made a good point about the light rail accessing it in the next 10 years.

Unless that site has been sold overnight and the plans that the city approved aren't going forward whoever put that out there has no idea what they're talking about.

The land is being turned into condos and park land. It's been in the works for years.

It could be leased or JV and not show up in public records. But I agree, this seems like someone's pipe dream (maybe they can share that pipe!) Just wanted to share the transportation information that came up the next day.

Yeah, I'm not blaming you. I've seen the idea thrown out there. I get it, I can look at Google Maps for open space too. I wanted to just stop this location's hype train before we got another 219 pages in.

I thought the point of this thread was to see how far it could go. Like Kramer running on empty. Don't crush our baseless speculation man!!!

Instead of just looking for a stadium site, what's the possibility of finding land big enough in the city for a stadium & academy?

I'll tell you what I'm going to do..... I have a bridge to sell you that connects downtown Manhattan with Brooklyn, interested?

I was just thinking this. I mean china built a whole island in contested waters, why can't we build one in friendly waters. Hell we have part Chinese ownership, surely they can teach us some trade secrets on building an island.

Battery Park City was built on landfill...
