What am I missing here? Some of those routes are already going, like the BBP to Governor's Island - that's been around for 2 years, yet is says planned 2017.

there should be a 42nd street stop in Manhattan.Would a new link even be needed? The East River Ferry would only drop fans off about a 10 minute walk from the stadium.

Wow. Kudos, man. In all my mapping and drawing of stadium footprints on aerial photos it never once occurred to me to look at water depth. Something new after 245 pages!Just looking at a few sailing charts and logistically the Fresh Direct site makes much more sense then Pier 40. The water by Fresh Direct is much more shallow, and if some parts of the stadium would need to go over the shore line or a dock to be built, it's much easier to do in Newton Creek then the Hudson.

Mmmm, maybe not..... I'm no expert on waterfront construction, but the Creek would be a bitch to build anything on because it's so narrow and still functioning as a waterway. So to "take" & project however many feet out into the waterway would potentially disrupt traffic. Additionally, there appears to be only a small area along the creek that does not have cables & pipelines running through it (pounding a concrete pile through the seabed just cut x/y/z service to the area). Whereas the area off the shore at Pier 40 is much more open and free (albeit a dang tunnel is running adjacent so the design may have to be angled downward to miss it - but that's where cool design comes into play).Just looking at a few sailing charts and logistically the Fresh Direct site makes much more sense then Pier 40. I'm sure they're working hard, but I doubt they have 4,915 inter-office memos regarding the stadium. Especially memos that segue from being on-topic to off-topic insight into taxes, occupations, and whatnot.I hope the team is working half as hard as this forum is .....

As to the waters' depth issue, driving a system of concrete piles in 10m of water is no tougher than 10ft, so depth isn't really an issue.
No, definitely not an engineer.... nor an iron monger..... but definitely a sarcasm & whiskey monger if there truly is such a thing. And now we're discovering our engineers. One more box checked.
When do we figure out who are our iron mongers and professional ice sculptors?
