I got nothing new, but if there WERE some rumors about the shared stadium and rumors about buying the Cosmos, maybe these things were discussed around the same time last year.

RD is terrific and a great place to gather on away days.

It would also be nice to have a designated-ish home pre-game/post-game meeting spot near YS for the Forums. I know that there will be other obligations to meet up with usual crews, but a go-to place to meet up would be great. I am not sure whether there are any bars not yet appropriately utilized that we can claim, but even the consistent use of a particular portion of one of the regulars would be fine. It would avoid our having to plan sporadic meet-ups, and could also include a larger contingent of the not-yet identified Forums friends.

Something to think about for next season. If anyone has any interest, I will remember to thread it prior to next season.
I know some are negative on it but Billy's has A LOT of space and would probably be an easy spot if we wanted to claim an area for example.

A bar is what you make of it. We should be cool with any of them. Unless there's a SG out there with some beef against us forumites that doesn't want us in 'their bar'. But who could hate us? Besides Saunders and Kreis of course.

Everyone is always welcome at Yankee Tavern. A few people are stopping by Sunday

I'm curious about the back story as well but I agree with all you said. Regardless of how the original arrangement happened there is no question about why it's continued and grown. Mick and the crew at RD truly love this team as much as any of us. They go out of their way to create a great atmosphere to watch a game. I'm spoiled to live near by as I can't imagine watching anywhere else. I also can't think a time when I have been in RD game day or not in which I havn't experienced Mick talking up the team to others in the bar. I know this was posted when it happened but it's worth re-mentioning as a relevant part of this conversation for those who live further away or didn't make the connection, the fan Villa visited in the jersey reveal video at the start of the season was Mick at RD.

Tagging Ulrich Ulrich since he asked as well.
I'm assuming you guys weren't around from the very beginning. Forums were founded maybe a couple weeks after the team was announced.
So we were active during the entire 2014 season. This made things very difficult since there was never any news and the wait sucked!
Probably a month before the season started a lady came to the forums (honestly don't even remember who it was) around the time we were discussing a home bar, location, etc and suggested RD's and talked Mick up a lot. I looked them up on Yelp and talked to Mick over the phone a couple of times and the guy was so enthused about football and the team that we decided to give it a try.
There was a watch party for the game against Orlando and he cooked up the shepherds pie and homemade wings. Then I flew up the following week with Falastur Falastur and we threw a big party the night before our inaugural home match. He knew some guys from the FO that frequented the bar and got us tons of free promo stuff and northernburbs printed a bunch of shirts. Again he did the food, had great drink prices and gave us an entire private area (upstairs) with our own bartender. We couldn't get that from any bar, never. No other bar would consider doing any of that. We probably had more people going to RD's that first season than any of the official bars. They've also bought additional TV's to accommodate the influx of people. I guess you can say it all kind of happened 'organically.' We just happened to find each other.

Well done buddy. It has been a great marriage from the beginning.

As an outgrowth, RD has been super cool to the Blue City Radio pod, and will allow us to record our 100th episode live on 12/15. Mick has been a guest and is absolutely a top notch person.

I've always watched the away games from home where I can write on the chatbox and freak out in private. Maybe I should venture out one match.

We did a meet up at Yankee Tavern a few matches ago (which I arrived way too late for). It's either that or the Hard Rock if we want our own place. Or a tailgate. Or, who cares and pick a different bar to meet up at each time, mix it up a bit. It's not like we're getting discounts from anywhere for showing up.
Bronx Drafthouse has been my goto post game recently. You pay about the same as anything right by the stadium but you're actually getting decent beer. Has been slammed recently, though, as I think everybody has caught on.

I'd love to find a Rockland group/location to watch away games but I'm not sure there's enough supporters locally.

I remember that watch party. And still have the forum shirt that einwindir snuck me that night. Wear it to most matches, but none of you F***heads notice. Though Jack pointed it out once.

According to the internet:

moar
1. A combination of "more" and "roar".

2. An order bellowed to a forum to remedy the bellower's insufficient porn collection. Usually accompanied by foaming at the mouth
