Interesting, because the talk in this article is the stadium is to be in the Iron Triangle of Willets Point and not Willets Point West. WPW was the park land meant for the mall to pay for the affordable housing in the IT. But court ruled it was only to be used for a stadium. Now the rendering from Melinda's Katz' State of the Borough makes more sense, since it shows the stadium in the IT, to the East of Citi Field.
Hmm, reading that article. There is a group that was housing there. However, didn't the court say that housing could not be build there due to the environmental issues on the land in the Iron Triangle.
