Stadium Discussion

I'm not sure what the objection is to the Cosmos playing in our SSS. They're not getting a stadium done otherwise because NYC ain't paying for two. However, they can be a nice rent-producing tenant to help us pay for ours as well as an NWSL team. Those additional tenants can help sell the stadium as a frequent hub of activity for soccer-loving professional millenials that will revitalize whatever area it's put into.

I think the difference is us playing in theirs vs them playing in ours. As long as its a NYCFC SSS I don't care who the tenants are. Revenue is revenue.

Who says either of us will own it.

Citifield is owned by Queens Ballpark Company, LLC
Barclays is owned by Brooklyn Events Center, LLC
MSG is owned by The Madison Square Garden Company

etc.

I have no issue with a SSS owned by SSS events company center, LLC in which both us and the Cosmos play.

What revenue are all 5 f.cosmos fans going to bring? FUCK THEM COMPLETELY. I'll hate the club more for bailing them out than for the jerseys or Lampardgate.

Poor thinking. Its not bailing them out, its approaching city government saying hey look two birds with one stone here...

I just want a stadium done ASAP.

Ok, say the Cosmos can pay $0 in rent. I'm pretty sure the tears of Leo Glickman as he watches his beloved Cosmos in a nearly empty stadium with the letters "NYCFC" clearly visible in the grandstands would be worth it.

I don't think there is any objection to the Cosmos playing in our SSS, or even for that matter, sharing a stadium together. I think some people are concerned about the location of the SSS, e.g., if it's in or very close to Nassau County, it is less desirable and I would prefer to then look for potential locations in Westchester (as opposed to that option). There are many different opinions on this subject of course.

His despair watching them fold will be a lot more satisfying and watching them rot somewhere in Long Island in a shitty Sunday league will be just as sweet as our first MLS cup.
