People use the waterfront there?
No, but when the area is gentrified, the white people who move in will!

That’s part of what the discussion is. Cross streets, creating walkways and developing everything from the water to the Deegan and Macombs Dam Bridge to 145th St.Isn’t the waterfront cut off by the highway?

Nobody has complained about anything yet as far as I have seen. This is during the initial presentation. This is what is being suggested As part of the entire areaSo are they complaining about something that has nothing to do with us
The garages lose money at an alarming rate because they're usually empty and don't even hit max capacity on Yankee game days. The parking garage and reducing available parking in the area is a concern for sure.

right. that was mentioend before. this just means that particular garage isn't used very much so the people who do use it can either find another solution or maybe give a limited amount of spots in the yankee garages as the alternative. it is a concern of the community or they wouldn't bring it up. but i think CFG/Yankees should be able to address it to the community's satisfaction. based on the fact that these garages are underused - consolidating would be an option.
Or maybe this line of concern isn’t rooted in reality. This happens with NIMBYs
This specific example is a concern someone in attendance who lives in the neighborhood brought up at the Q&A.I think it's a legit concern. If you own a car and live around the 153rd street garage you might pay for monthly parking there. If that garage is removed, where are you parking besides on the street?
Maybe at one of the other 4 empty garages or 7 outdoor lots within 2-300 yards?I think it's a legit concern. If you own a car and live around the 153rd street garage you might pay for monthly parking there. If that garage is removed, where are you parking besides on the street?

Why are we paying people to use another garage? The city is already subsidizing them by keeping the other garages open.
