Also not sure what Ian is referring to here “top squad, new stadium...” think he knows something we don’t?

So apparently uefa wants the 2024 final of the champions league in new York. So 2024 champions league quality stadium completion confirmed?
"A lot has happened in New York that has made it more difficult..."
Yeah, de Blasio was elected...twice.

Did I miss anything in garbers “state of the league” during halftime of the cup final?
Didn’t GAL pull out of the original deal anyway? I though that was the bigger factor over DeBlasio.

You would also have to include St. Louis and Sacramento. He said possibly 7 new SS stadiums soon. I have t don’t the math yet but that would be...
Columbus. Austin. Miami. Nashville. Cincy.
Who else?
Does Queensboro not need approval to build a stadium? Why are people acting like their situation is a sure thing?

I'm curious as to why everyone seems to think that QBFC has so much more local community/political support than NYCFC does? What is that based on? Just the picture of Katz with Villa and Moya?I think because one of the biggest hurdles of getting something built is local community/political support. QBFC seems to have both already so that part of it is pretty much done.
we dont know what is the site of the SSS, everyone assumes willets point. however, in the meantime a modular stadium will be built so they have somewhere they can have play is not bleeding money in rent in a baseball stadium waiting to see what happens. so optics look different.
Community and political support for an as-yet-announced stadium in an as-yet-announced part of Queens in and as-yet-announced timeframe is “pretty much done”?I think because one of the biggest hurdles of getting something built is local community/political support. QBFC seems to have both already so that part of it is pretty much done. Secondly, the stadium won't be as big as what NYCFC wants, so that alone should make it easier.
Anyway, save that for the QBFC thread. This thread should be more dedicated to our NYCFC stadium misery.
