Some guy named Brad Sims talked about stadium progress in his in depth interview and it’s a lot of the same. He did mention south Bronx though is where they’re focused and that they’re working with the community, etc.
For a while he's been saying off the record that they can't talk about it because it may jeopardize the project. I guess they figure the cat's out of the bag? Also encouraging in the sense that maybe their perception at this point is that it will be more difficult to derail it.

Also the irony of using the term "derail" in the context of a project that may involve messing with train lines is not lost on me.

Let's be honest: At this point, every indication is that we're getting closer than we've ever been. This is another indication, with the CEO who claims to work on this every day talking about what they're currently doing to try to lock it down.

One of my dad’s dad-isms is that you can’t be sure of when your flight is taking off until you’re wheels up. i think this principle applies here.

To illustrate my point, Nashville has been trying to break ground for 4 months but the mayor is holding it up even though there’s a lot of support at the council level. My sister and brother in law live down there (season ticket holders since the NPSL and through USL days) and they’re wondering what’s going on

The best is Don Garber’s tongue lashing he’s giving the mayor saying MLS awarded Nashville because of the public funding the city was giving.......

Lol..... like that means shit to their mayor right now (who was never a supporter of a stadium) - I seriously doubt he’s feeling pressure to crack because of The Don. It’s a shame their stadium is being held up, but MLS doesn’t operate from a position of strength when confronting municipalities, with NYC a case study on the futility.

just let them play in the titans stadium till its figured out, no need to take away the franchise. We freaking play in two baseball stadiums and in CT, they can get a pass too.

The mayor holding up a stadium deal that has lots of support elsewhere???? That sounds awfully familiar....

I'm all for municipalities giving developers a hard time over terms of a deal when public funds and property are involved, but I absolutely find it disgusting when the parties reach a deal, then the developer begins to make financial and time commitments to the project only to have some prick official basically throw away that deal.
