What Will Be The Name Of The New Home?

They appear to be doing it in the Delta club -- or whichever the one is that's behind home plate on the 100 section.
Been awhile since I've been in the stadium so I forget which entrance Delta is, but the vaccine area is Gate 4 at the corner of 161 and Macombs Dam Br Ave (before it turns into Jerome near Gate 2). They've also opened some of the ticket windows up to schedule appointments because people were coming without one. So far open every day from 8am-8pm, handling up to 15,000 appointments per week. The capacity is based on vaccine availability, not what they can actually handle. They'll open it up 24/7 if they can get enough supply (Gothamist: De Blasio, Seen In Rarely Worn Bombers Cap, Launches COVID Vaccine Site At Yankee Stadium)

Based on the video I saw on NY1 of them setting up the venue, it's the Ford Field MVP Club (located behind home plate in the 100s). Delta SKY360 Suite is in the 200s.
 
I was watching the Bronx 12 "Ask the Borough President" sit down last night. There was no mention of NYCFC, but it did make me think, at what point does NYCFC/ Madd Equities need to annouced at least a MOU for a stadium before a new administration can ask to review the deal and slow down the process. I was thinking Diaz and De Blasio need to have deal done by the end of August, if not then its an issue for the candiates running for office. As the topic of housing will be one the biggest issues with the stadium. Is there sufficient housing with the stadium, should there be housing and not a stadium, etc.

I understand I am getting ahead of myself as the team needs to address many issues before they make an announcement. Thank you theOutfield.org for the articles as a reminder of the steps that need to be completed first. As more of you are well versed in NY Politics, I thought i would bring it up here in the forum.

Well hopefully the club learned something from the last time this happened at the end of the Bloomberg admin.
 
i take it as: if this doesnt work out within those four years then its never going to happen.

they said 4 years after they enter public approval process. as of now, they have not entered that stage yet. so add another year? maybe 2?

even if its an extra two, i figure in four years if we are in the exact same spot with no land obtained then no i dont think its happening ever.

the GAL spot is pretty much what they have their targets set on. unless something has drastically changed on that front, really doubt the club is going to look elsewhere. from what i recall (and understood) of the discussions before covid, they were waiting to commit to the GAL based on a few things, including making sure there was enough support to move forward. no point in getting the land and moving the GAL factory if the community was going to fight them tooth and nail about developing it.

From the time we enter the public approval process, we are plus or minus four years out from that point to Stadium opening, if everything goes as we hope.

So if I'm reading this right, if we enter the process in March 2021, the stadium could potentially be ready in minus four years, meaning the first game will be sometime in March 2017, with Vieira as manager and Pirlo and Jack Harrison in midfield?

Exactly how I read it, haha.

Think they meant "four years give or take" rather than "plus or minus four years".

There were, but reportedly, GAL isn't the hold up anymore. The holdups have been the Deegan ramp ownership issues and the lease with Bronx Parking Development Corporation for the parking garage site.
 
Has anyone checked the bond prices lately?

Thoughts on Yang being pro/anti-stadium? Betting odds have him at -210 as our next mayor.

He's not giving any timetable for land acquisition ('fully assembling the necessary parcels'). That could be a couple things, issues with Deegan ramp or Bronx Parking like SoupInNYC SoupInNYC said, or trying to work out support before moving forward so it's not all an exercise in futility (they have the land but won't get approved) like M moogoo said. Or some combination of all of the above. To me, that's a huge unknown prior to the secondary 4-year public approval to construction timeline.

It is what it is, but like mgarbowski mgarbowski and others have said, we've been gaslit about all sorts, so I'm not really giving the benefit of the doubt to add only a year or maybe 2. Why not 3 or 5 or 10? It could fully be outside their control based on the external factors above, but unless/until there's a real announcement, I just come to this thread for a laugh
 
Given the typical approvals process lifecycle for a project of this scale, I have to think that if it hasn't started--and it hasn't, based on what they've said--then it ain't happening under this administration. And if that is the case, might as well wait until the next.
