From the City.nyc poll in response to the following question:Did anyone ever find out what Adams's position was on the stadium?
Dog help us if Wiley gets elected.
Notice what's missing? From the City.nyc poll in response to the following question:
The Bronx: Do you support building a stadium for the NYCFC soccer club next to Yankee Stadium?
- Yes, I will do whatever I can to make this happen:
- Yang, McGuire
- Yes, but only if a deal can be reached with no public subsidy or tax breaks:
- Stringer, Foldenauer, Sliwa, Donovan, Prince, Garcia, Chang, Taylor
- No
- Morales, Wiley
This is literally the only reference I could find to her having an opinion on a stadium -- a one-word answer to a question that was most certainly answered by a campaign worker. Given the amount of ancillary spending CFG would do surrounding a stadium, I find it difficult to believe that any Mayor would give a blanket no to a project with minimal public funding. From the City.nyc poll in response to the following question:

Republicans usually do.Adams has historically been good for development. Among land use professionals he has the majority of support.
This. And please don't base your vote on a single issue that is of no significance to 99% of New Yorkers.

What the fuck Yankees?
I will add for now that I was attending this meeting today with the anticipation of letting out some tweets around "that box has now been checked" and "onto the Bronx Borough Board vote". But an amended agenda was provided today (original agenda provided a week in advance) and the vote was removed. It ended up being a very interesting meeting. I noted on twitter and will also do so here, I'm probably going to unpack this into a larger post instead of firing off tweets. Still hoping to turn this around as quick as I can.

No, if anything they were looking to move this along quicker understanding that a new mayor and city council were on the way. This is a tough pill to swallow. Things seemed to be finally progressing and it's back to 1 step forward, 2 steps back. Do you think this has anything to do with the mayoral election?
