The Next Nycfc Coach

This thread has got to be the best discussion thread ever on this forum.nyes Ancelotti please. With his statue we can attract both big names and great young players, along with more willingness to invest from the lords across the pond

We are going to have Jason Kreis next year. His performance was not that bad when you take into account the seven games we played without a DP at all.

Let alone the fact that we got shafted on our other DP.

This yeah is a wash, next year we are set to dominate the league.

How different would this season have turned out if we had him since Day 1?

Supporters Shield contenders? Probably not, but you can't tell me an uninjured, in shape, in sync Frank Lampard from the start wouldn't have made a difference in some of those games we lost points in vs Chicago, Philadelphia, Colorado etc.......

CFG will keep Kreis. They like to be patient with managers. They don't, however, give managers unlimited time to get it right. 2016 will be Kreis' make or break season. If he shows no signs of progress from this drab campaign, he'll be gone.

Dominate might be a stretch. We need quite a few changes to get to that level. Competitive and playoff bound? yes, barring signficant injuries to our key players

I honestly think he'll do well next season, perhaps in large part because the team will be a lot better as well. With a full season of Lampard and Pirlo plus whatever roster improvements we can manage, how could he *not* do better? I'm not a huge Kreis fan nor am I a Kreis hater but I do think next season will be much better than this one.

That's not to say I haven't immensely enjoyed this season, of course.

Shep Messing just said during the RB game that he has spoken to sources at NYCFC, Portland and Seattle and there have been some talks about coach musical chairs. He mentioned maybe Schmid could move to NY. I'm sure it's nonsense but figured I would pass it on since it is on topic.

Well, I've spoken with sources at Bayern Munich, Real Madrid, and Barcelona who said there are talks of disbanding all the teams to form one hyper-club known as BayernBarcaMadrid that would go on and compete in the 2018 FIFA World Cup.

Obviously during a Red Bull game tv coverage there has to be talk of NYCFC, because it's the only club that matters IN NEW YORK.

Well Brendan Rodgers is available :D

Don't rule that out. Rodgers was under serious consideration before Pellegrini was appointed & is still highly thought of apparently by key people at CFG. He's still young so a stint in MLS to rebuild his reputation might appeal to him. Make sure to wear your shades if he gets the job as he has dazzling new teeth!

Oh wow...as someone who supports LFC outside of America, I am not sure how I'd feel about another round of player merry go round. I think I've seen about enough of playing folks out of position between there and here.

However, if he committed to running a 3 man back line, I'd be for it. Would love to see more of a 3-4-3 set up in US soccer in general. I think it plays to our pool's strengths of fitness and athleticism.

Before Frank's first game against Montreal there were twelve games that we either lost by one goal or tied. Twelve! That's 36 potential points that were left on the table. If he just scored one goal in three of those games we're looking at a point increase of three to six, which would have placed us comfortably in the playoff race. And that's only asking for three more goals out of Frankie

On a side note I always say if you want to look at a teams turnaround potential, look at the games they just barley lost (or tied) in. So far on the year we lost by one or tied 17 times. For me that's shows a lot of good potential for Jason Kries and the boys going into year two.

It's possible, but that would be the first I've heard of it. For obvious reasons I keep up on all CFG news, not just NYCFC-related stuff, and I've not heard a single thing about them and Brendan Rogers since I heard a rumour I immediately dismissed saying they wanted to sack Pellegrini and tempt Rogers away from Liverpool when it became obvious City weren't going to win the Prem last season.

It's quite possible that they liked him a year or two ago and it's possible that I've missed a reputable article recently but honestly I think CFG have gone off Rogers just like 99% of the footballing world.
